Hope it's not true. Walker has massive talent and superstar potential. He badly needs to play a full season rather than a few games here and there. Still, if it is true I'm sure he'll work out a way to deal with it. Judd's shoulders have been in a bad state since he was 18, and yet he's become the best footballer in the AFL. Just a question of learning to manage the problem. :)

soo....what the hell is going on?
we've got friends of players saying his done the shoulder, but the article is old?

No one has referenced an article for this most recent injury, the news has come via some friends of players.

It has yet to be confirmed by CFC but those who posted on the other forums seem to have close contacts.

It apparently occurred during a closed training session on Fri.

Given that it was a closed session it may indicate that some match simulation and setups were being conducted and as these sessions are full tilt, injuries are quite possible.

Word is that it isnt the exact same type of injury that happened last year, but it confirms what we all anticipated and that is....Walker has suspect shoulders:(.

The problem is compounded by the fact he always goes 100% and knows only one way to play and attack the footy.

Maybe Bluebear or others can shed a little more on the technical nature of possible issues with AW shoulders and expected recovery times etc...

Anyway, shocking news and lets hope for Walks sakes he can come back fighting fit before the season proper starts.

Carlton’s Andrew Walker injured his right shoulder during training at Visy Park on Friday.

Walker had scans on the shoulder on Friday afternoon and will meet with Carlton’s medical team and his surgeon early next week to review the extent of damage and plan the appropriate course of rehabilitation.

Although the injury is to the same shoulder that kept Walker out of the first fifteen matches in 2008, it is not a recurrence of the same injury.

Walker, 22 years old, has played 81 games for the Blues since his debut in Round 5, 2004.

- Confirmed.

It must be almost time to assess his career. If it can't stand up in practice matches and training drills it's a bit fanciful to believe it will under the crash and bash pressure of a real game. This is awful. So many supporters had Tex as the one they wanted to see most of all this year. Sick in the guts stuff.

Totally ruined my weekend this news. I think you may be right Thy allthough i would hate to see him go.

People, I am officially calling for calm! Let's wait and see what the prognosis is next week before we jump to conclusions.

Fingers crossed it is good news but I bet knowing his luck it will be ........
