any other news from yesterday?

blacks smashed oeg by more than even I predicted...assume oeg have got a few out? did the bloke that got KO'd last week play?

oakleigh were very good for 3 quarters
bernards were shocking most of the day but got over the line in the end

Very young OEG side yesterday that tried hard but just lacked experience. Definitely a few regulars missing from the side yesterday, including the bloke that got Ko'd last week.

Old Haileybury were very good & deserved the win!If their ones keep fit they will prove a few people wrong - incluing me, problem maybe depth with our two's accounting for them 9 goals.

It would appear that the final 4 will be made up of 4 of the top 5 teams as the ladder currently stands.

Only one that could come from bottom 4 would be OEG.

Whilst Ivanhoe are top, they have played 2 of the bottom 3 so havent really been tested as yet.

mr p
Can you also give us something on the depth at OEG this year as I see your two's got smashed by blacks to the tune of 154 points? Injuries must clearly be hitting hard down there at the moment?

Yep, tough day at the office for the two's on the weekend. We won't be making any excuses for the 0-2 start, we just haven't been up to it, but the reality is that 16 of our top 44 players were not available for selection due to injury. Hopefully we'll start to get a bit of luck over the next few weeks and be in a position to select our strongest 44 players. The 19's and clubbies both had good wins on the weekend so might need a chop out from them over the next few weeks.

Was in South Yarra to see SKOB just do what they needed to against an ordinary Unicorns side who to their credit tried hard all day.

As an aside have you checked out the premier 3s comp... what a disgrace. Closest contest was a 11 goal hiding.

Couldn't agree more.

Get back to Club 18's ASAP, where average or old footballers can have a kick against like minded footballers.

PS.

Bring back B Grade. Premier B sounds shite.

Nooooo... lets keep it...in fact lets take it to a new level and make all comps premier. Under 19's Premier becomes Premier H-L, Under 18's M&N, and club 18's Premier O-Q.

Maybe they are the bottom two because they played OI, not because they are the two worsed teams in B Grade!!

So if they beat HR this week, and that puts HR near the bottom, does that mean OI have had an easy start to the year, or that they are better than most "experts" believed.

i think it would be fair to say most people have been suprised how well ivanhoe have started...they lost a fair bit of quality from their 08 and 09 lists. Theyve done everything right so far... but will be better equipped to judge after the halfway mark

OH have been the ones that have suprised me the most... started off very very well.

What about some predictions for round 3
Rovers V OI at BJ- would have to go with OI at the minute, but will be very close.
OC V Blacks at Carey- Blacks to continue on their merry way in a canter
Bernards V OEG at bernards- Bernards better for 2 runs out... approaching FS indicator of 98% while OEG clearly about 65%
SKOB V OH at THK- Game of the round for mine. Ill tip a draw.
Oakliegh V MHSOB at WAS. Have only seen Oakleigh play but reports from the skob people were that MH were ordinary on the weekend.

Is that an FS indicator of 98% or BS indicator of 98%?

From what I witnessed on the weekend MHSOB are not up to B Section standard. They clogged it up and still lost by 70 plus, on a bigger ground would have been 100 plus.
No disrespect but it is what it is, they will be relegated so its a matter of who goes with them, looking at the OEG list from the weekend unfortunately it looks like them at this stage.

I would think only 3 teams are fighting for promotion, OI, SK, and Uni. given the high have played 2 of those, perhaps premature on relegation talk. Wold like to wait and see how they go against Oakleigh and a few others who should be down the bottom. Defs not making finals - but i think there will be the top three i have mentioned and then a gap to the rest of the field, there wont be much between 4th, 5th, 6th etc at season end. next 2 weeks huge to see how season will head.

Jeeze Eddie, I hope you're not a old boy of the High, otherwise they might want to reassess their entrance exams!

Bromley was injured after half time I believe.

Tips for this week

OI Will love the big ground on bluff road
UB Carey are struggling
SB Bernies should be able to take care of Old Essendon
SK Who can stop this on ball brigade
OAK Revenge for last year humiliation in Grand Final

Standard win by the Bloods last week in a high scoring affair...Looking forward to facing St Kevin's this week.
Tips
HR
UB
St B
OH
Oakliegh over MHSOB who should pack their bags now, all aboard the relegation bus!
