The Warwick Cappers to just defeat Hampton Hammers by 7 pts: Bigger bodies in tough conditions to prevail.

The Out of Bounds to defeat the Hula Hoops by 28 points: Wet, Windy and tight ain't no fun for visitors.

The Caulfield Bears to defeat the Students by 18 pts: Match of the round/maybe the year?

Cujo Snowdogs to revel in the freezing conditions and defeat Beau Bridges by 16 pts

The Bumblebees to jab the Poo Browns by 20 points: Hoes first loss.

Good win by our boys today, had Blacks on toast most of the game but couldn't kick straight.
Im amazed by the old Brighton result, are they that bad?
I also heard there was a bit of biffo in the rovers game, anyone care to elaboarate?
When was the last time a B grade side kicked 1 goal in a game???

Tell us about the biffo there P & D. Weren't you watching?

Now let me say this up front. St.Kevins were on for the game. They won it in the 1st 20 minutes. Thereafter just a slog on a ground that is going to be a challenge for all teams.

BUT, how the hell can the premier game in B Grade be left with only one goal umpire. And yes in the 1st quarter there was a clear incorrect decision to allow a goal. You can't make a decision from 5 meters behind the line. Not implying any cheating, but a lack of trained umpire, caused the error.

This decision was very pivotal. We would have lost by 6 goals.

OI very dissapointing today considering Skob were down to 2 on the bench before half time, 2 very big injuries as well. Didn't notice the big O at all but was named on the team sheet? Also vafa website says ""Oakleigh tossed Hampton Rovers after the umps had tossed three rovers' player". Were they red carded? and at what stage of the game?

Sorry Max, incorrect, I was there as was the boundary umpire who told the fieldy, and I quote , "the ball was clearly Over the line".
Correct re the game, but tough conditions.
Good luck next week, hopefully drier!!!

Oakleigh (need to get there early to get a park on the hill - but should be worth it)
Brighton
Caulfield
Beauy
SKOB (Forwards going ok but their backline has been very ordinary so they will cause the result on this one)
Are you happy with them restricting Old Ivanhoe and their man mountain to 1 goal CC?

BS

You are pretty happy with yourself after yesterdays result.

Lets be honest, the game was won in the 1st 20 minutes, thereafter it was 3 goals to 1 in the remaining 80 minutes.

The conditions at the King were unique at this time of the year, and no question you guys handled it far better.

Hopefully the conditions at the "Lodge" next time will enable both teams to play attaching football for the fully 4 quarters. This will see how both backlines perform.

Maxy, have you just outed yourself as Cardio Carl? Forgive me for thinking that the first 20 minutes count and that you guys kicked with a new ball and 4 goal breeze in the second quarter.
Forgive me also for thinking that 3 goals to 1 would also have won the game!
My question to your good self is when was the last time OI kicked 1 goal in a senior A or B Section game?
Were there any injuries during the game that meant you were down a few men or was it just a dirty day?
One last one, was that you walking the boundary with the silver instamatic in your hands?

No and yes a very (literally) dirty day.

I use 35mm camera that needs to processed by your local chemist.

Played Marcellin in 98 in B Grade and kicked 2 goals. Only trouble was Marcellin also kicked 2 goals. We won the game by 10 points.

The only Cardio I know is what I do at the gym 3 times a week.

Did it say Property of GTV9 on the side or return to AV office, Wheelers Hill Campus?

Rovers made to look foolish. Some weak hits by weak men led to an embarrassing result. Hello C Grade.

In all seriousness you must be taking the p1ss, because it was the least spiteful game i have seen between the two clubs and i thought it was played in very good spirits. There were 3 reports all of which should get off but more than likely wont with the "amateur" way the tribunal is operated. Oakleigh were far to desperate and hard at it from qtr time on and we just have to try to improve in all areas if we are to firstly win and then remain a B grade team. It would help to get 3 out of our top 5 players on the park, but i am sure a number of teams are in a similar boat.

LF - Surely the footage will do justice for one of the incidents. The fact a report came out of this one in particular is absolutely laughable. Having watched the video it appears that the umpire's view of the incident was impeded by a player and he's guessed what happened. It's quite clear that our player has chopped the Oakleigh players arm in a marking contest and as a result that arm has whacked his team mate. For this to be a red card and a reportable offence beggars belief. I'd actually love to be in the room for the reaction when the umpire sees the footage that the Oakleigh player has made contact to his team mate and not our player making the contact. As for the other 2 incidents the players are taking the prescribed.

Mick, thanks for your unbiased response, LF, perhaps you should have spoken with Mick before posting, because you are normally the most creditable poster on here!
Another huge week coming up for all 10 teams!!!

Are we talking about the same young players that were rubbed out for quite a few weeks early last season or are these different ones?

BS - LF is a very credible source (more credible than myself when it comes to the weekend as I wasn't there and he certainly was). I've seen footage and spoken to a committee member who have advised the club made the decisions on whether to challenge. Everything LF said is true based on what the players in question had said prior to this morning.

The players in question weren't involved in any incidents early last year - which by the way was only 1 player.

You should stick to outlandish statements, rather than guessing on games once you have seen the score.

It was tight all day and at no point did Caulfield have Blacks on toast. Gotta gice credit to the Uni boys they never stopped trying to the end.

Might have to refer that one to the adjudicator from last year - Cardio - remember there was the one against Old Essendon and another with surname starting with M or S but I could have it wrong. One got 6 and one got 4 didn't they?

Funny how the only result he didnt mention was the club who he may be involved with hey Keano!
UM, LF is a quality poster, not having a crack at him, always take what he says as gospel.
Big game this weeks versus the St Bernards lads, must win!!!!!!
