(posting blind - haven't seen any of today's posts)
Did my tips on paper last night, got a work call that kept me up until after 1, then was woken up late and rushed straight off to my game before I remembered to put them in. So by virtue of the local rules invented by myself, they'll count. Any objections?

:thumbsu::):thumbsu:no sir, all clear, keep up the good work.

Hey Guys,

Just spent a few weeks overseas, so im out of the loop.
I see caulfield are cruising along nicely and stkevs have put behind them the shock draw with hampton. Hows the rest of them going?

Did anyone see any of the games on the weekend?

Ladder After Round 6
POS TEAM P W L D B FF For Agst % PTS
1 Caulfield G 6 6 0 0 0 0 812 360 225.56 24
2 St Kevins 6 5 0 1 0 0 657 431 152.44 22
3 Old Ivan 6 4 2 0 0 0 495 440 112.50 16
4 Uni Blacks 6 3 3 0 0 0 568 455 124.84 12
5 St Bern 6 3 3 0 0 0 492 688 71.51 12
6 Beaumaris 6 2 4 0 0 0 543 544 99.82 8
7 Old Brigh 6 2 4 0 0 0 469 522 89.85 8
8 Oakleigh 6 2 4 0 0 0 553 684 80.85 8
9 Marcellin 6 2 4 0 0 0 350 589 59.42 8
10 Hampton R 6 0 5 1 0 0 369 686 53.79 2

Interesting looking ladder, HUGE win by the Krushers on the weekend, Hampton in deeper than they would like and the Bernies lads flying! The shock of the round has to be Old Brighton, massive win.
Watched SKOB v Beauy, the Sharks looked pretty good, not sure how many Sandy blokes, if any, they had on the weekend but was a good match. Kicked very straight for a windy day.
The four is wide open, with all teams able to challenege, will be another close season re relegation.
Lastly, a big shout out to Kornel Dachs, great work on the weekend mate!

Saw some of the first half of the Oakleigh game. OI looked like they didn't want to get their hands dirty.

As for us, the reality is our best 22 is good enough, but we lack any real depth to compete at this level. Martyn is yet to play a game, Woods has missed a few and Corp has missed a couple. We don't have the cattle to replace these types and it's proved costly against sides like Oakleigh & St Bernards, who at home we would exepct to beat. With that said, these injuries and recent suspensions have created opportunities to get good experience into some young players that will be of long term benefit to the club.
Certainly can't argue with all the nay-sayers for now, but our season is far from over.

Unfortunately for Hampton I do think they are most likely gone, but after that it is very hard to work out who else is most likely.

As for Caulfield, we haven't played Old Ivanhoe or SKOBs yet. That happens in the next 2 weeks. My guess is that we may beat OI at home, but SKOBs look great and I am not sure we are going as well! But these 3 are the standouts at the minute.

Looking at the score from the Blacks vs Old Brightons game, looks like OB had a huge second half, maybe this will kick start their season with L.Hendra to come back to the side.
But Id like to see if they continue that form into the next few weeks before i make them a real top 4 chance. Did anyone see this game and can comment? Were Blacks ordinary, or were brighton excellent?

UM,

You are totally wrong. It was the wind:D.

Seriously, OI's form has been patchy.

He had both Marc and HR on toast in the 1st quarters, only to let both teams in. We were down at half time against Beauy and the wind very much assisted us against OB.

It would be interesting to know how many clubs had VFL players available last week. We had 1. Not making any excuses.

can't dispute the enthusiasm UM when the side is 0-5 (1 draw), but with HR playing 3 of the 4 sides above it over the next 3 weeks (+OB again soon after) then the door is still ajar, but surely any failures in the next 3 weeks you could virtually shut up shop for the season. Pity when you do have the cattle and 2 of the players commit a selfish act of getting reported for 2 weeks, this is pathetic. Need them on the park, not in the car park, can't help the team out there.

Sorry, but arent all the sides in B Grade currently sitting above HR. i dont get your 3 out 4 sides above it statement. Lets be brutally honest. HR are going down. No door is still ajar, its shut and renforced shut with padlocks and the lot. They can beat old brighton this week on their performance against black, so mark them down for no wins, 6 losses and one draw. BYe Hampton

Beauy = 0 unless you count Barnes and Gower who quit Sandy at the end of last year and that goes for every game thus far.

Sorry, you state "they can beat OB this week..", but put them down for no win's, 6 losses...how does that work if you think they will beat OB.

In terms of the 4 sides JUST ABOVE THEM, crikey only 2.5 wins from 12 to 6th and albeit for me to pump them up as they have 69 posters on here who could do it, just saying if they can't snare 1 or 2 then all finished.

Caulfield = 0, we occasionally see a few (Sundberg & Johston have played a couple each) but they often struggle to fit in as they never train with us.

wow, now there is some motivation for your VFL players to link back to the old club. "Yeah realise your playing VFL but as you don't train with us you can't play".

Give me a break, but then again you have 14 of 22 on 6 games and 5 on 5 so you do have a rock solid team at the moment as compared to SKOB at 8 of 6.

4th June is looking ugly for SKOB based on the above and the fact that 1 guy has kicked 30% of their score this year, shut him down and shut up shop.

Based on fact you guys are minimum 5 goals better than SKOB at the moment based on the 25 goal differential

Also went past your club last week and smelt cooking so ventured in and seen the old boy's practicing cooking their humble pies for some bad poster boy's who wrote them off earlier in the season (not mentioning any names), stupid people.

Its quite clear to see by the full sentence that ive missed the 't' at the end of can, which would make it say 'cant'. But some people canT use their brain to figure that out. Writing about HR having some hope this season is wasting your time and us onlookers time too. Hampton Rovers are as useless as Julia Gillard. We all know that, lets not beat around the bush.
Sure they have lovely kids and maybe deserve a win or two, but the poor battlers will only have their draw to salvage from this season.

So ill try say it again, they wont win a game this season, and therefore they wonT be winning against OB this weekend. Whom i think might have discovered from their win against Blacks, that they actually can win, and they might start to play some exciting football having had 24* scoring shots on goal in the second half against a quality backline. Ive seen the blacks backline, and theyre very solid (usually)

ok, now I'm confused, is it "cant" or "can't". Realise your a newbie but for goodness sake man, lift your game as us old boys carn't understand ya.

SKOB will look to be a little stronger after the bye hopefully, we also have had no VFL players at all this year, just looking to develop our own talent ala De La Salle.
I'm amazed by the form of both Marcellin, Blacks and OB, up and down like a yoyo.
Also thumbs down to the 3 field umpire system, it looked like when the ball came into the least busy umps zone, he was so anxious to blow his whistle he 'made up' decisions to get involved.
I hear they will only be used in A and B finals.

wow, probably the non funniest thing I've ever heard. Cardio Carl's definately not a comedian, he is abit of a joker though.
He states, is it "cant" or "can't", and then mentions he is apparently confused (i think an attempt from him to sound funny),
BUT then the wonder kid says "carn't" to finish off his sentence. Don't pull someone up on grammar, when you're worse, and you're actually trying to sound some what clever, or acting like a smartarse.

You also mention about me being a Newbie to try gather seasoned bigfooty members to jump on your side.
Well mate, you say useless information on here, like Hampton Rovers having the door ajar to make finals this season. So don't think you're worthy of the respect of being a top class bigfooty member, because your footy knowledge stinks. In conclusion I change my statement about you being a joker, you're not, you're a deadset clown.
Talk about your spelling grammar concerns on BigNetball forums.

Apologies, Now back to footy........... I  :footy:
