Sorry to break the news but Coggs hasn't left, just not playing early doors.

Ahh, the great man Brian is back!

I thought you may have been on a Scribe like self imposed exile( although he can't help himself and continues to post despite saying he wouldn't!).

Can you provide us with your top four Brian? Do you share the love for the Bernies that others on here do? Skobs?

Word out west is a couple of handy types are returning to Bernies to bolster their list.

Who do you follow Ron?

I can quickly put the McKee and Ednie rumour to bed, an absolute fabrication and not even 0.001% true. SKOB have no recruits of great note, just working diligently to improve from within ala De La Salle.
St Bernards are hyping things up so am happy to go with them as favourites.

Just spoke to a local bookie who is offering $1.55 for a St.Bernards Premiership this year.

I'll take that as it's over the odds. Should be $1.35.

Signed, sealed and delivered....I'm yours.

wombat, put your hard earned on black cav instead
a much smarter wager if u ask me

semmell gone from HR... huge loss- absolute gun (and only young too i think from memory)

Tried to keep that one under wraps for as long as possible, but Sem will be a massive loss. He was a co-skipper last year and played in the Aus U/23 team that toured Sth Africa after last season. Unfortunately at that age and with the sort of carrot that was dangled in front of him it was always going to be a challenge to keep him. Same applies for Chris Gleeson (also listed in the clearances) who went with him. 2 players that will be hard to replace, but hopefully back at the Boss before too long.

semmell, gleeson, d robbins all gone... thats 3 big outs UM

any good replacements (other than the tattooed one)?

We did everything to keep them, but as UM said very hard to keep the 3 of them when good coin was on offer and ammos is a non paying comp. We have got a couple back for a full year in Corpy, Pinto, Matty and a couple of young blokes returning, but looking for the younger guys to take the next step. All standard lines at this stage of the year.

Hampton will dominate this year, round one they come up against a St Kevin's team with no-one over 5ft 10, a dream draw.

Can someone from Shark Park tell me how Jack "The Beak" Coleman is travelling this pre season?

Big loss for the Chokers - Carboni has OP and will struggle to lineup this year. Looks like it'll be straight back down for the Fielders.

noticed on the clearances that Cal Buckley from Old Brighton (one of their best players and favourate sons) has applied for a clearance to the Sharks. Would imagine big news down beachside and would certainly add a bit of spice to the derbys.

They didnt have any more than 5 senior players in, just playing the young blokes. They will be looking forward to round one and unveiling their star recruits against the midget chokers from Toorak.

Predictions for ladder

St Bernards : On the way back to being a power, recruits from everywhere destined to win it EASILY ala Old Carey.
Uni Blacks : Strong, stable club now, a heap of talented kids starting to mature, I'm on the bandwagon.
Old Brighton : Have a few 'ins' and have a great home gound advantage. I think this may be their best year in B with the future ala St Kevin's.
Old Ivanhoe : Always around the mark in B with the massive man up forward.

Hampton : A heap of new young talent and a few cagey legends returning, look for a strong year from this district bastion. Heading A grade in the next 2 years.
Caulfield : On the up with a strong school system, could be the next Old Xavs (according to their President).
Oakleigh : Rumored to be making $ure they $tay up, a proud club.
Beaumaris : A powerful junior club who will start realising their worth, have recruited from far and wide. Need to consolidate in B grade to then head to A grade in the next 3 years.
St Kevin's : Lost a heap of talent and haven't recruited anyone of note according to BS, and they just give up when the going gets tough (see round 18 2010) SOFT. Wont play in A grade again.
Marcellin : A rabble who need to go to C and rebuild ala Collegiens 10 years ago, not sure if they can be a force again for a while, see above re SKOB, also SOFT.

Caulfield played OM's last Sunday, with OM's winning. Not sure of the margin, but the game was pretty even, as you would expect for a first hit out and so many youngsters being tried out by both sides.

The last practice matches in a week's time are generally the best guide as coaches look to test their full strength sides.

I may be wrong but didn't he do his juniors with Sharks and only been at OB for 2-3 years? if his application goes through I would have thought it was a return of a favorite son rather then loss of one ARod.

OB will be ok, rumored to have picked up a couple of nice, quick young mids to test out in the lower grade.

OMG, he really said that?

Did he say it in the back of your cab 'half cut' on his way home?

GOI, you seem to be pretty keen on B considering you are meant to be an OH man. Your statements about Marcellin and St Kev's are pretty poor and gutless, obviously you are a smart bloke if u drive a cab for a living.

maybe he's on the B Section thread AND is an OH man - he's just keeping an eye on it for next year when they'll be straight back down. They've gone up to A Grade but basically left a sign on the B Grade door saying "back in 5 minutes"
