Why do you say that? Not stirring, just being curious. The two fieldies were in the VFL last year, there were some howls from the sidelines about some decisions but we discussed them during the breaks and each one was correct.

Footage of a certain boundary throw-in will definitely be shown at the umps annual dinner though...

Understand they maybe have previously been from the VFL, however that doesn't mean they will always officiate at a VFL level. Each decision was correct?? According to who, the umpires? Anyhow OI deserved the win and we move on.

Bit of kerfuffle between the other goalie and fieldie resulted in the ball being kicked in before the point had been signalled. It had to be brought to the fieldies' attention before the ball went out of bounds or a free kick paid else it would have been a null score. Uncle Mick would have topped himself if the game ended in a draw or OI winning by a point.

The best analogy I could come up with was "like a dog loose in the sheep paddock."

Not happy Jan but what can you do?

Fear not oh great flag waver, it's be nice to umpy week this week so I'm sure all our correspondents will take due note of that.;)

BTW. Was that a chick I saw waving the calico on Saturday at Camberwell?

How about a summary of the game from the Grand Poobah.

Bit of a blur actually, I was working after the match until around 5am and I'm still recovering. Just downloaded the video from dartfish.tv and I'm very relieved to see I had a good game.

Was quite exciting when Hampton were within four points, the intensity dropped a bit toward the end when OI were clearly going to win.

Rest assured that if any of us have a WTF??? moment with another ump, we'll talk about it and each will say what he/she saw and discuss why the decision went that particular way. The field umpires observer was there and didn't have a problem. Then the video gets looked at by the umpire coaches and if necessary raised at training.

Pretty much exactly what players go through, we're just the team in white.

With the representative season upon us, which players from the Premier B clubs do you think are in line to wear the Big V this year in the inter-league match against the VCFL?

All of our starting 18 Jascave!!!
It will be a good week this week, a bit of rain will make it interesting.
My tips:
Caulfield by over 10 goals vs Blacks according to Caulfield's Big Footy great, the one and only Reveller's Royalty, and he should know!
Hampton over Oakleigh by 32
Old Ivanhoe over St Kevin's by 33
Brighton easily
St Bernards to pump Beauy

P&D....probably more like Shark Bait...

A state nomination for Caulfield would probably go to Sheetz. I would have thought Weatherly (OI), M.Giansiracusa, Dowd, Edgar (SKOBS), Madden (StB), Lucas (Oak), Bortolotto (Marc) are good chances and I reckon Haynes (Beau) should.

Caulfield V Uni Blacks - Home ground advantage will just be enough, but this will be Caulfield's first real test. Blacks would have been stung from last week and on the rebound will be keen to atone. This will show where the Fields are really at.
Hampton V Oakleigh - Before last week I would have thought this was a monty for the Krushers, but now I am not to sure. Reckon the Snowdogs might have jumped Oakleigh last week and it won't happen again.
St Kevins V Old Ivanhoe - Another close one and probably the game of the round. OI got a bit of a shock last week and I think they will be ready to go. The home side had a great win, but that may have taken a bit out of them. OI just!
Old Brighton V Marcellin - Great win by the Eagles last week, but playing the Beach Oval is a different story, particularly with average weather forecast. OB will slowly edge away to win this safely.
St Bernards V Beaumaris - I think the Snowdogs may be back and the Sharks form is looking patchy. The Sharks had most of their stars last week and accuracy cost them, so I will go with home side in this one.

Rug up winter is upon us!

Please refrain for calling the football club and any player associated with the club a "Snowdog"!!! If you were apart of the club you would know it was a bit of an insult.

Care to explain P and D?

Who are you inferring RR is and why "should he know"?

i heard that beaumaris are missing 6 or so players that played in the winning final last year.....and alot of them like the old heads of coote, collins, mcnicholas, dean...havent played in a while and couple of young blokes...mcbain who looked like a vafa player to watch and the B.O.G in the granny langdon....so there doing allright with them i spose...snowdogs hard game though they look raring to go after a strong win against oakleigh

I doubt there would be any clubs out there who aren't missing half a dozen good players. Travel, work, family, injury etc. It is the ammos. I know DeLa and Xavs are missing 10 plus in A Grade.

Hard to know how much of this to believe when I know for a fact Coote has played 3 out of 4 and Dean has played a couple. Not sure of the rest. As has been stated, plenty of sides miss players. We made 7 changes last week and the bulk were ins rather than outs.

McNicholas has been in the Reserves all year. Dean has played 2 and Coote 3 games.

I'd say the Sharks have had a great start to the year. Good wins against Oakleigh and Brighton, a respectable loss to OI, it's only the Marcellin result that looks surprising. But the fact that the Reserves have lost all 4 questions how much depth they have in their senior ranks. Albeit their U/19s are doing very well in the Premier grade.

Sounds like natural turnover to me.
