would adding yarran, and whatever others scraps and kids you pick up be enough to move richmond to top 4 at the end of 2016 ?

thats the question to ask yourself. if the answer is no, then something substantial has to change.

take a risk and break the drought, rather than just hope it all goes away.

lol - these mutts don't rate themselves- they are in permanent rebuild phase because their coach is selling the distant future..in a distant galaxy - where they actually get to win a final.

Yarran would have been perfect for Hawthorn - silly goose has been tugged into tugger land thinking.

Pick 19 would make it an end of the first round pick. Theres no change you will get that for him in FA.
Also if you've heard the rumors the compensation is going to be axed next year anyway.
In the end we will offer him the same as we did this year and you will get nothing.
Let me spell it out for you pal, there are 18 teams in the comp, well 17 plus ninthmond (are they even relevant) therefore round 1 of the draft has 18 picks ,therefore pick 19 is beginning of 2nd round. Its not that hard to understand.

Another Richmond tugger coming in here ( note no banter thread on Richmond Board - what a load of pussies) to tell us how shit Yarran is and how they are doing carlton a favour offering up - pick 24 ...

what a delusional bunch of morans.
I'd be careful using the Morans in the pejorative... you mightn't like the ramifications...

Yes we would it was stated from the start he is worth pick 12 - 15 you guys are trying to be smart but sorry we have learnt our lessons over the years and we shouldn't roll over we are not a charity.
If he sits out next year you will at best get a second round pick and thats if compensation still exists, allowing that to happen would be stupidity for all involved a very poor start to SOS's new career.
The thing with all the other trades that have gone ahead is they required compromise by both parties, so far Carlton has just been stubborn, you cant win this little battle whether we get Yarran this year, next year or not at all.

Its your salary cap he will be filling up and we will just take our two first rounders to the draft and probably get Yarran for nothing next year.

And in even better news for Richmond, there'll be even more of him to have for nothing next year...

According to all reports it is not second round but end of first round, but does it really matter its pick 19 which if anything is slightly overs, SOS is just making a fool of himself only, Carlton supporters think Yarran is worth pick 12, sometimes it's best to grow up and cut your losses, there is nothing to gain by hanging on to Yarran.

Surely if he decides to sit out the season, that is a breach of contract and i can't imagine we would be expected to put his salary towards the salary cap

You're missing the point, blues will have an earlier pick in the psd next year they said they'll match any contract offer which comes back to the same argument, pick 12 or 1st round next year? You don't have a 2nd rounder. He's a Rfa therefore if blues match the offer tigers still have to trade for him.. You lose check mate!

How would you get a restr

How would you get a restricted Free agent for zilch? We can match any offer. If the malcontent acts unprofessionally in 2016 and further dilutes his value for his own greedy goals then life can be very rough for Yarran next year too.
So the onus will be on he, to act professionally and restore his value whist in our list.

No need for a banter thread as our normal thread is open for all, unlike the other Yarran thread you have here:$

not open to me my friend- you have moderators in there who are a tad disinterested in rational discussion.

I'll see if I can make this clear for you.

What we value our contracted player as is the only thing that is important. We don't need to grow up. We don't need to compromise. We've put a price on his head, and if you want him you'll pay it.

You may decide our price is too high. That's fine. He's contracted to our football club and we are happy for you to walk away.

If we, or any club, take unders for contracted players because they, with the aid of a rival club, have decided they want to play elsewhere, then we, or any club who accomodates this, is foolish. The free-trade agreement has moved the goal posts too close to the players. It cannot also be okay for them to walk mid-contract and get exactly what they want, unless the club losing the player is appropriately compensated.

I think we should all be able to agree on this.

Fair enough.

Why don't you call him and break the bread, rewire him, get him back online? Why can't you inspire him with the joy of your rebuild? Hasn't SOS been there all 2015...why is he letting go such a talent? If the Tiges don't pony up the value you think he is worth, surely Bolton, SOS, McKay and the assistant/development regime you have refreshed should be able to maximise his value...or is it all too hard???

Instead of P12, you have an enigmatic and skilled player with a 7 year tank...what's the problem over there at Blueland?

Pretty sure we'll do exactly that when/if the trade falls through. Right now we are about getting what we believe he's worth at trade.
