In Carlton today. Recipe; 1.5kg's of Apricots, 1.5 kgs jam sugar, 1/2 cup of boiling water with 1/2tsp citric acid desolved in it. Cook fruit til soft then boil for 6 mins. Simples. Best Apricots are the Moore Parks which will be in shortly.

Gin and apricot … sounds like a nice combo.

Simply because I am so fekkin ancient, people think I am good at preserves. This means my next few days are taken up with making presents.

Cranberry chutney
Onion Confit
Cherries in Brandy
Nocino
Frangelico

My pressies are a jar of the tomato chutney I made last week. got to do the labels for it. The Jam....one jar goes to kim who gave me the recipe but thats it. I had to use my vintage vacola jars and what there worth these days I'm not giving them away...the jam is for selfish home store. Have you tried Frangelico mixed with vanilla icecream Grand Uncle Horace it's to die for.
