Unless Vickery slips down to pick 8 I would like to see Richmond take Sidebottom at pick 8 and Roughead at pick 26.

Wheather Vickery slips to pick eight depends on if Port decides to fill a need or go for the best availiable. If Port decides to go for the best availiable then he could slip down to Richmond because obtaining a Ruckman is not the highest priority on the other teams list between Port and Richmond.

I can't see Mitch Robinson slipping down to pick 23. He is most likely to go somewhere between 10-15.

Bock and Rutten are like 24/25, so unless Trengove is going to be ready when he hits 24/25 then yer...

They'll both be 26/27 next year, so will Scott Stevens, and other than those three the only other tall backman you have is Aaron Kite, who is as yet unproven.
When Trengove is ready to go when he's 21/22 in 3-4 years, Bock Rutten and Stevens will all be 29/30ish.

Both will be 26 next year mate, Stevens will be 27. By the way, we also drafted Brad Moran as a key defender. You've done a good job with the Phantom Draft mate, but as a Crows supporter I'd be pretty dissapointed if our first three picks were a KPD and 2 small defenders come midfielders. Whilst we can't just ignore drafting defenders because our defence is currently good, I think next year might be the year where we stock up in this department.

At the moment our priority is shoring up our KPF stocks, we can't just rely on Tippet, Sellar and Walker making it, IMO we need to draft another KPF with one of our first 2-3 picks. IMO it is also much easier to convert a KPF into a KPD rather than the opposite.

Also high on the list is a small crumbing forward, Jacky's development has been slow and Douglas will be looking to move into the midfield over the next year or so. Our other need would be more quality midfielders with pace, then a development ruckman with a late pick will also be likely.

Richmond – have gone for a key forward and then two versatile players, skipped a ruck as I felt there was none worth taking at their picks
Lewis Johnston – KPF – 192cm 87kg
Nic Heyne – Mid/HFF – 187cm 79kg
Luke Stanton – Wing/HFF – 191cm 83kg
Interesting that you say there were no rucks worth taking with our picks but then have Andrew Browne going to the Pies the pick after we take Heyne and Roughead going about 4 picks later. Surely there is not that much between these 3 that says we wont take one of them with pick 26 if they are still available.

Yeah I didn't think so mate.

Glad there's another swift fan.
Hey Sinepari, how good is Swift?
I have read what people on here have said about him but I was hoping someone like yourself that watches him fairly closley could shed some more light.
How does he move?
is he fast? does he take a good mark? how good are his skills?
does he have good leadership? Who would you compare him to if possible in the AFL? do you see his injuries wrecking his career?

Thanks in advance.

Great read Beats and like O'Keefe going to Dogs in 2nd round. If we managed to get Cordy for 2nd round pick I would be hoping the Dogs try to trade into the mid 2nd round to try and still nab him but also great to be the first Phantom Draft I've read giving insight into who will bid for Cordy and when. Could be very interesting if Dogs go out in straight sets and Syd, and possibly Adelaide have picks after them though in regards to Cordy.

I really, really, really, really hope we dont take De Boer.

Also I would rather Freo take Hartlett over Nicko:thumbsu:

Havent read through the whole thread so I dont know if this has been mentioned but you have Adelaide picking 3 defenders with our 1st 3 picks. I would have thought that was the last type of player we needed. Forwards and midfielders is what we need.

Carlton – they take a midfielder, a key position forward and a good hff, a nice even spread
Jack Ziebell – Midfielder – 188cm 84kg
Paul Cahill – KPF – 192cm 82kg
Tom Rockliff – FP/HFF – 183cm 83kg

Dunno about Cahill. We already have a lot of players who can't kick. Is he really capable of holding down CHF?

I have no doubts our 2nd pick will be dedicated to the player best able to play CHF for us.

I think he's capable it's just the kicking skills both at goal and around the ground are the worry. Saying that, IIRC he lead the assists in the carnival and was 2nd in contested marks while kicking at least a goal in every game, so there definitely is talent there.

I'm actually really happy about the draftees you gave West Coast. Though I'd say perhaps too many midfielders we already have so many developing talls( both front and back) a winger a classy mid and small forward would be a good pick up. I'm 50/50 on either Blease or Hill. A couple of things if Warnock stays or even if he dosnt I'v a feeling Freo may pick up Hartlett (even maybe Ziebel though I doubt it) that said and no offense intended I doubt we'll be so lucky or that the draft will turn out anything like we expect!

Actually as an afterthought if we were taking the risk on Hill (being a little physically under developed) might we not do the same with Swift..... he may come under an injury cloud but other dominant junior mids have been in a simialar situation and come good. :)

Given Adelaide's strength is the backline and we have a number of players coming through (Petrenko, Kite), I seriously doubt we will draft three defensive players. I'd like to think we will go midfielder, forward, back or forward, midfielder, back with our first three picks.

great to see you have included steele sidebottom in your top 10.
i saw him play one championship game and he looked like a brilliant footballer. kind of reminded me of luke hodge; doesnt always get stacks of the ball but what he does with it and his disposal is excellent. could be a great player off half-back, and may even be able to float down forward to kick a few goals.

Yarran
Zaharakis
Silvagni

Well played. From a StKilda point of view best one so far. :)
Singled out what we needed and got it pretty much spot on. :thumbsu:

Dropped into the Geelong v Sandy Dragons match on the way to see the mighty Cats. Only saw 2 and a half qtrs but in that time Watts was very dangerous up forward playing deep and then went onto the ball and struggled a bit. Vickery played forward also and moves really well for a big guy. He may go higher than Watts.

Another forward Mitch Brown was the pick of the bunch. He played up the ground and presented well. I saw him play a school game earlier in the year against ACK and rated him then, but he impressed me even more yesterday with his poise and composure under pressure. He has a bit of James Hird about him.

I hope our recruiting guru Wellsy was on hand as i wouldn't mind him with our first pick. I hope he lasts that long.
