Been watching Deutsche Welle english language news and they have had these 3 stories about bobsleigh and luge the last few days. First one I found the video on their you tube account, a Latvian father has built a little bobsleigh course for his kids

The video is embedded in these 2 stories - First BMW have built a simulator of the course for the German team to use in the Bobsleigh. BMW have been building the sleigh for a decade now, but the simulator was set up in 2020 due to covid shutdowns and not being allowed to have test events on the new Beijing course.

A story with video explaining why the Germans dominate the luge.

Canadians had to beat undefeated italians to be sure they made it to the SF's and defend their gold medal.

It went to an extra end and ended like this.

Lots of errors and one bad crash in the downhill and we are only 6 skiers in.

Holy shit the Austrian who just finished copped his pole bouncing into his nose and face and split him open.

Sunny, fast course today no wind and -10 degrees.

Wow 41 year old Frenchman Clarey goes into silver spot, only 0.10 behind Feuz. Was in front, just, at 2nd last time check.

Frenchman Johan Clarey has had a career peak at 41, winning a silver medal in the downhill.

It's his best result at his 4 olympics, as he has never made top 10 in either downhill or Super G.

He did win a silver medal in the Super G world champs in 2019, and has a few 2nds and 3rds in World Cup events over an 18 year career. He set the fastest time ever recorded in a race, in 2013 at a WC downhill event when he cracked the ton being recorded at 161.9 km/h or 100.6 m/h.

He finished 2nd in Austria a few weeks ago so not a complete surprise, but still a fantastic effort to peak at 41.

American Brodie Miller was 36 when he won bronze in 2014 in the Super G, but he won gold 4 years earlier when he won the combined event.
