Ben Lennon still keen to stay at Richmond

After his antics with his contract renewals id offer him a rookie spot and say like it or lump it.
Should prove more than enough incentive to pull his finger out. Sick of this lazy prick getten paid well to put in half arsed efforts in the vfl.

See what hes made of when money doesnt fall from the sky for him

As you - and another poster - have mentioned it, I simply don't buy or understand the logic that if his trade value is non-existent than we should keep him and give him another year.
His trade vlue is non-existent for a good reason - he has no value an is not viewed anywhere else in the league.
This will be the third straight year he has either contemplated moving on or we will try to deal him .... sound like a valuable commodity????
I just think we have enough players to move on. I don't see the point in delisting him for a pick around 80-100+
Adds depth for break in case of emergency and can be moved on the following year when we need to make space for the next crop of youngsters.

Bolton, Stengle, Markov, Garthwaite, Menadue and Lloyd are all ahead of Lennon in the queue waiting for games, the only bolter would be for a tall
Just saw on twitter that Lloyds manager said he wants to explore options elsewhere. Not surprising given how good his form in the magoos was and couldn't break into the team. :(:(

Take it to the bank that he has been told we will try to trade him, otherwise will be delisted.
Going to say no

And if it was true, if you were a real Richmond supporter you wouldn't post shit like this where opposition clubs will look

Applying the laws of probability to the laws of evidence, I think Kingy46 is probably closer to the money:D

Again, a pick around 80-100 shows his worth .... so why are we keeping a guy like that.
Not every player has to be moved on for something, which as stated, is what is likely to happen with Ben as no one else is interested.
The fact no one else is interested is no reason to keep him on our list when we can be grooming some other draftee or upgrading a rookie.

If ever Lennon was to have a shot it would have been when Griff went down and they were searching for options for how to restructure the forward line (not to mention when Jack went down).

That he didn't get a game showed what the selection committee/coaches think of him, and how well they figure he fit into their plans.

From that I figure his cards are marked and the only thing that might save him is if they decide not to go for too many in this draft, because there would probably be several ahead of him.

If he stays, it'll be a 1 year, minimum wage deal that almost certainly wouldn't be renewed....Little more than keeping the seat warm for next years 5th rounder and helping out our VFL team.

Very much have been a Richmond member my whole life, as have my family for generataions and I won't begin to argue with you. we will just wait after the trade period is finished and finalise our delistings but i can promise you two things.
doubters, this is all very very true that a trade will try to be forced, if not delisted, and secondly if you think that it even matters in the slightest that an 'opposition' club would so called 'see' this, then you have rocks in your head.
Supporters on here always fish for information about what is happening at the club and I can tell you this is rock solid info from the mouth of the player in questions exit interview. Don't think it takes Einstein to figure out who I know and yes he wanted to stay at the club and wasn't trying to leave at all so he is shattered

Ben Lennon was drafted in 2013 and has done/shown bugger all as to why he should be retained as a Richmond player.

It is a better option to draft/recruit a new player who will add to the playing list rather than hoping Lennon does something.

FFS clutching now at straws to troll the club.

Maybe tag me another post like you have five times since Saturday .... if that's what make you feel good about yourself, Champ :)
It's an opinion ... maybe get one, instead of attempting to formulate one just to disagree with me.
If you think Elton and Griffiths are adequate kudos to you.
But as I said, tag me in a fifth post to try and stir up the usual detractors in an attempt to big note yourself. Adios!

Made one comment about being you being a serial whinger not 5. You are still a negative campaigner after we win a flag, that is not an opinion that is a mantra.

You know how it goes kingy46 .... if you don't post a view that concurs with certain people who think they have the mortgage on Richmond and Richmond views, you are 'not a real Richmond supporter'.
Love how certain folk always drag that ol' chestnut out ..... 'not a real Richmond supporter'.
FWIW, I am led to believe you are very correct in your assessment. Lennon will be either traded, or if one can't be arranged, he'll be delisted. The club is in better shape now and has learned from mistakes of the past and won't be holding onto blokes for six and seven years on a wish and a prayer. The club will be busy planning for sustained success not looking backwards.

You've tagged me in about five posts .... I'm happy that makes you feel good about yourself.
Funny thing is I didn't see them til Tuesday ... was busy at the game Saturday and celebrating the win on Saturday night, Sunday at Punt Road and in the pubs of Richmond, and Monday with mates I have stood/sat with at the footy for 10 years, some 20 years, some even 30 and lapping it up, while you were at home alone taking pot shots and trying to bait people. Probably says plenty about who is a real Richmond supporter.
Show yourself the door and put me on Ignore ......your opinions are no more or less valid than anyone else's on an 'opinion' forum ..... you just think yours are.

Incorrect, I only made one comment and didn't tag you. Post the 5 comments if you believe you are right? Of course you have right to opinion, but gets tiresome you continual negative comments. I don't live in Melbourne (or Australia) so cannot be there to celebrate.

I don't like to put other posters on ignore, because this has backfired before. I started a duplicate thread once not realising an ignored poster had also started the same thread.

Great to hear we are finally being professional about list management, no point holding on ad infinitum waiting for a draft pick to come good. The only thing that happens is they become a list clogger.

Needs to improve his defensive running. his offensive work is great - i guarantee his (lack of) defensive pressure is what cost him a spot in the 1s this year. He works hard over the preseason, gets his fitness up and works on the defensive side, he's a big chance to play as a 2nd kpf.

Yet what staggers me about blokes like you is you don't realise how negative you are - and how much you brinfg down the tone of the board and level of discussion and debate - with your continual pot-shotting of blokes whose opinions differ to yours, or may have some poor things to say about the club.
HINT: We just won our first premiership in 37 years. You don't achieve such a drought - including may years of being a bottom club - by having 'the best' players, 'the best' coaches, 'the best' administrators, 'the best' decisions made, 'the best' everything else. What you don't think I was on the money just a few times?????? Yes we can all think we are in Utopia and everything is great, but it's not. Some of the things I have been critical of over the years .. the coach (well he is quoted - at length - as saying he was poor and lost his way in 2016); Jack being stupidly omitted from the leadership group in favour of non-leaders such as Chaplin and Edwards :)rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:); some diabolical recruiting, including the brain-dead recruitment of Yarran and a bevy of spuds; to name a few; the coach's obvious fascination and dedication to a bloke like Vickery who didn't chase or offer any pressure; ... you don't think I was on the money.
I bet you were the same bloke who was lambasting me when I was saying positive things about Lambert (against the grain); ditto for Houli (against the grain). I'm positive when it;s called for and we did well winning a flag - but the challenge now is to sustain it and that's all I care about, while you continue to take pot shots at people you don't agree with and probably get on the main board and goad opposition supporters like a knob instead of enjoying the moment.
Putting postes on ignore backfired .. what a pathetic excuse.
I get tired of people like you who offer no opinion other than to go against others and try to call them out to win favour among like-minded boneheaded, but I don't care until you tag me or call me out and I respond. You don't have a mortgage on opinions and everyone does not need to agree with you. There are fantastic posters on here who contribute much who I agree with on things and not others, and some I agree with rarely but respect.
You have so little appreciation for how much posters whinging about so called negative people brings the tone of the board down and p**** everyone off, so it doesn't win you any friends.
Adios!

His first three steps are like he's trying to run in gum boots
Another thing and this is what's damning

In four years he's played
23 games 21 tackles

Towno last two years
9 games 38 tackles

You don't need talent to have a go, it's something that's decided before the moment arrives
