look if the dayne beams late withdrawl is true , then we will definetely know that his source is right. Honestly i believe in the beams late withdrawal because of the the players who have been names as emergencies. Kennedy could well be the sub against the dogs on sunday since bucks has pretty predictable with the emergencies and late changes this year.

I'm calling horse shit.

This is simply an attention grab because Reid left the track early. Players leave the track early ALL THE TIME. Especially players being eased back from a long absence.
Reid bet Swanny 50 bucks he could get him off the front page....

How do these injury prone players sleep at night? I wouldn't if I knew I was on half a million a year and rarely got onto the park.
Perfectly well I presume. As long as they're following all the protocols the club set with regard to injury management and rehab then they're holding up their end of the bargain.

Didn't appear to be calf but leg issue with Reid ... so important to Pies .. any setback frustrating/untimely

Ben Reid spotted leaving the track early at Collingwood today. Club officials coy but he seems certain to miss VFL tomorrow ..

Leg issue. Good reporting.
I was there when he left he was limping a bit and looked sore but no one was creating a fuss, no doctors looking him over, probably got a knock or something.
Several other players had already headed back, I didn't think anything of it.

Look it up. Just because you say it's not true doesn't make it so.
Edit:
Here, I've even done it for you:

Fair enough. I can't argue with the facts. Why do I have the perception he has gone missing before? I don't feel that about any other players on the list. He always seems to be limping , hobbling or sore after physical contests. I think he broke his foot in the GF replay. Oh well- I was wrong.

To be honest the media is talking a load of crap trained well with the AFL side, he went to the VFL training and left early. The ground was very heavy last week he is probably still a bit fatigued. But 100% will not play tomorrow and Beams will be a late out Sunday. Heard that here first, there is nothing wrong with him it is just a rest.

Broomhead please :)

It's a popular myth that Reid is made of glass/injured all the time. Fact is, that although he usually misses a couple of weeks during the season to a soft tissue injury (or in last years case being sniped by that dirtbag Lindsay Thomas),
This is the first time in his career he has actually had a long term injury.
His injuries may have stood out more though since a couple have happened at critical times (eg. 2011 GF).

Domus, not completely wrong. Many of us think of Reid as injury prone, or brittle, particularly in his legs, below the knee! It is a perception, and he did hobble in two Grand Finals!! But the stats dont back up the perception, which is reassuring....sort of....

08- broken foot
10- broken leg (GF)
11- groin (final series)
12- quad
13- groin (final series)
14- calf

They are the injuries he's had over the journey in season so it doesn't include the 2013 pre-season shoulder injury while in Bali.

The 10, 11 & 13 injuries all occurred in September and would have cost him long stretches had they been mid-season. Let's not kid ourselves he isn't durable and it will only get worse as he ages. Should we even be thinking of trading him? Hell no, but by the same token we shouldn't be using game tallies from previous seasons to defend his durability.

The lack of acknowledgement from the club so far indicates one of two possibilities, IMO, a) it's a fresh injury (hamstring maybe) and they're buying time to decide how best to handle it with us and the media or b) he hasn't recovered as well as hoped so they've pulled him out as a precaution.

AFAIK Stevens is the only one running with it so I'm leaning towards b, but either way it doesn't fill you with any sort of confidence...
