What do you mean?

They are a very different team to last season and have blokes who are known for picking up injuries.

They are just being honest about that rather than bullshitting

Might be old fashioned of me but I don’t see the benefit of sharing that stuff.

Needlessly disrespectful of your opponent and potentially motivational for them.

To me it gets disrespectful once it appears in the paper.

What should he do though…just lie?

I’ve been at a club in the same situation as Castlemaine and I never took offence to clubs resting players against us or used it as motivation. It was just a smart and realistic thing to do and I was jealous of their position to be able to do.

My attitude to it was that we are no bloody good so let’s do what we can to get better not worry about the other mob

Just imagine if Eaglehawk had their full team in

Kyneton lucky to escape with the 4 points from what I’m hearing

Anyone know the reserves result, that can’t be right
You mustn’t have been there today. Big wins for Kyneton in seniors and reserves. Unfortunately Maryborough are ravaged by injuries at the moment and even though they were never going to win, it certainly is having a significant impact on the club and more so compared to the ‘top line’ clubs.

On a positive note, the Magpies under 18s were again outstanding today with another big win. The team has great numbers and a really tight knit group. They are certainly going to be at the top end of the ladder this year. They are the future of the club and let’s hope they stick around despite many leaving town for work/study.

Who is the tip for the top 6 team that WONT make the finals this year?

Square and Strath are coming under pressure after losing games at home. Before the season commenced I had them both down as certainties to make the finals with Square as my flag favourite. Now revising that to Eaglehawk who look certainties to be there in September. I had thought South might miss out, but now ????

OK guys, seeking your opinions on who will miss out.

I'd be keen to know how the Castlemaine and Flat games end with Perry in the guts.

18s form is definitely a massive positive at the moment, boys are just well drilled and it's something I'm enjoying seeing.

Not quite your 5 this week
No got a couple wrong this week for sure the most surprising one for me was south I think square missing Toma hurt them but fair play to south and Sandhurst full credit as well I didn’t think they had that on them without the VFL players so well done seems it’s a pretty wide open season Eaglehawk probably flag favourites at this stage but a long way to go

Could Gisborne be the ones to miss ?

Injuries and VFL availability will prove to be keys to the end result of this season

Bart has made a selection. Well done mate.

OK, Trent, Roota, Localfootballgura, Past Padding, Silver, Forest St End, Tasman LVR, KTown Tigs and anyone else game enough. Who do you guys predict will be the team to miss out?

As for me, I really cannot make up my mind. However if I am asking you guys to name someone I had better do the same. Eaglehawk is the only team I think is safe. (Gee I hate saying that!). If Strath's run of injuries continues (and they have now lost two home games against fellow final contenders), they could be in trouble. Mind you Square are also 0 - 2. Still it is hard to imagine these two not making the finals. Cobi Maxted is more likely than the other two VFL listed players to play more games for the Dragons and he does give them a more potent forward line, but who knows what the Collingwood VFL selectors will do. Gisborne have not been impressive to date, but will improve as the season goes on. Pat McKenna's return will give them a big lift.

I'll stick my neck out and say South Bendigo. (This statement may come back to haunt me).

Over to others. You can go first Trent.

Long way to go yet. But I think Strathfieldsaye with Eaglehawk and then South Bendigo (away) are in for an interesting couple of weeks. Lose both of them and they are the ones needing to fight back.

Likewise bit of a season-defining month for South. Sandhurst, Strath (home), Maryborough, Gisborne (home).

Not a big fan of trying to stick my neck out for longer than the next month really. Just keen to let things play out haha.

I can't see Strath missing out, it's still early in the season, I don't think south will get there, come July when the grounds get slower a few more injuries mount, I don't think they'll have the depth to cover

A bit hard for me given I now have a definite bias towards Strathfieldsaye but if there is some luck with injuries and some of the 17 players unavailable get back in the near future then can secure enough wins to make it and be very much in contention.

Sandhurst,Square and Eaglehawk look the definites to me at this stage

Big day for the Magpies at the Camp tomorrow.

Looking at the form lines they should be capable of having a red hot go at Flat on home turf. In recent years these have been the games that have gone badly, especially at home.

Time to turn that around and turn the Camp back into a place teams fear heading to.

My old mate Trent hasn’t lodged his tips for a while but I know everyone will be hanging out for mine so here they are hopefully I go better than last week

Gisborne by 20 points
Square by 200 points
Sandhurst by 8 points
Flat by 7 points
Eaglehawk by 18 points

I’ll probably be wrong but think there will only be the one blowout this week which would be a nice change
