kyneton: houstan, needs to go as over his journey he at times has made a fool of himself and his players with his constant abuse. he has got there club on track profeesional wise off field i feel as at one of our games this year at strath they where all in uniforms and looking smart. problem is they are another one of the country clubs in trouble.

houstan will go, his choice

Can Barfold Bob or Davis 24 or any other Kyneton insiders tell us if it is true that Condos took the reins in the coaching box on saturday and that Paul Housten pulled the boots on for the Tigers?
Housten did play on Saturday and Condos did coach the side after injuring his hand in the first quarter.

Housten was a joke and shoud have been reported for striking in the 3rd quarter.

Kyneton need to have good hard look at themselves and improve the conduct of their supporters if they wish to stay and play in major league football.

Nihill going. Filo, Fisher & Houston rumoured also to be finishing up. Elliott quite possibly too. That's at least half of them moving on.

hello fellow readers, always thought i wouldnt join this site but why not.

i have followed bendigo footy for around 7 years now.

coaching positions season 2010 and my thoughts:

castlemaine: paul eyles, is rumoured to be given the job again which is interesting seeing they have had one of there worst seasons by far. not sure would be the right move from a outsider point of view as i feel they need a bigger profile coach to draw some players...( filo maybe)

eyles will coach

houstan will go, his choice

gisborne: elliot, seemed to behind the eight ball from day one as a few wanted to go to ballarat league and it seemed to de rail the club. they still have soime very good players but not sure they follow his direction well enough. a club like gisborne will bounce back quicker than the other country clubs.

elliot will go, mutual decision

stath: clint, has done a great job getting our club up and running and i feel he will continue to coach, or be given the chance to. the list depth wise is not there but with another pre season under the clubs belt they should improve

whitsed will coach again

kangaroo flat: murray collins has had a middle of road year, flat should be in the 5 with the key forwards and there onball brigade but they seem to have not clicked this year. maybe they have but it might be too late. surely they need to keep there keys and get the 3 to 4 gun recruits to push into top 3/4 next year. they have the funds to compete with top sides

collins will go, clubs choice

maryborough: shane fisher in win terms has had a better year at this stage, he has said on radio about the committment level etc at maryborough and we all know they are not financial to compete with top sides.he seems very passionate about footy. they might slide into finals but wont be for long. .1 week at best. ok list but only 3/ 4 keys.

fisher will go, his choice

sandhurst: nhilly i have to say has developed a great list and should take his side up in finals if they get it together, the bombers players playing vfl will hurt them greatly though at present, but we all want them to play at highest level, aka watching crameri last night. if they keep the spine of there side they should push for top 3 in 2011

k nhill to go, his choice

eaglehawk: filo has had a mixed year, the playing group has not jelled and maybe cause to many assistants and big paid players that dont mingle with everyone. they have no chance of hurting the top two, ( which is a question of why) with there list. maybe a clean out will happen at the hawks

d filo to go, mutual decision- filo to coach another bendigo side!!!!

south bendigo: r coburn has done a great job this year, they are not scared of square anymore, there list is as good as square. the back half will be the key to there finals hopes. coburn just needs the club to get a supporter base now for them to be force for years

coburn to coach again

golden sqaure: n carter has been given a team, lets be honest and a bloody good one at that. feel he is a bit too casual with his coaching but certainly can handle it well, who wouldnt. they are the team to beat and will plap south in sep

n carter to go, mutaul decision

only my thoughts so dont anyone get upset[/quote]

You clearly don't have a contact at the storm. I have it on very good authority that Whitsed will coach his last storm game this weekend.

For a coach with(in my eyes) one of the most NATURALLY TALENTED teams in the league he has done a terrible job. Watching from the sidelines they are a very selfish, undisciplined team with no proper structure or gameplan. If you can get them to play as a team and stop certain players from being selfish then you'll find they might push those top 3 benchmark teams next year.

They have the height and marking power (Ross, Pilcher, Eastman, Leas & B Hall) and skills (Sharp, Sullivan, Gawthrop, Ladson, K Smith, Rice & Pedrotti) just not the team mentality.

HEY Al Pacino .... wouldnt u put Cam Hall in the list of Storm talented n skilled players ?? I would. He was Mich medal runn-up 3 years back when in the bloods colors :thumbsu:

for those asking about the houston/jimmy condos situation at tigerland
jimmy will be concentrating on playing this week .... we rekon we r a fair chance of knocking off maryb at home

that would give us 5 wins at home this seson

a few weeks back v south at the Q jimmy did most of the coaching from the side with paulie h. really just looking on --- jimmy sent the runner out with orders, made the moves etc....
maybe jimmy has coaching hopes for 2011

Suppose you feel Bomber Thompson is a bit casual in his coaching too at times. i did Hear Carter get very animated at gisborne a few weeks ago you could hear him from the other side of the ground clearly, i wouldnt think that is casual.
I like the way south are building to playing their best football come the business half of the season, really learnt from last year where they hit the season playing their best footy. Their foward half could really trouble square with davies height and athletism, as well as a point to prove , along with hardinge and Strange changing deep forward their marking strength and height could really test the square defence adding frew into the mix as well and the X factor in Danny O'Bree who loves kicking goals on the big stage. If the midfield frew can negate lloyd's run and carry expect an upset gf day.
Would strath be better looking for a star player as whitsed is finished as a player, perhaps they could look at a scanlon from the bombers to take over as they have a built good platform to work with.
Just on weeks is there any chance of a defender playing some different tactics on him like playing 5-10 metres in front for 15 minutes a quarter, running off and making him accountable because from the games i have seen he just leads out into the open spaces created by the other forwards, with some excellent delivery from the midfield with the defender trailling in behind, oppostion clubs have to make him think and put him out of his comfort zone

Apologies, forgot about C Hall. Very good ball winner, does lack kicking skills and never handballs but would easily be averaging 30-35 touches a game.

Sorry to spoil your day Albury but I received the BFL result via SMS at 6.28pm tonight, with the updated Rd 17 ladder at 8.09pm.

Do you guys get mobile reception in Albury ??? :D

Maybe its time that the O&M moved out of the noughties and into the teens !!

Getting a text message along the lines of GS 12.4 d Ky 7.9 is all good and well, but the website will give us a little more info than that. Is it too much to expect such detail to be made available that evening?

But the BFL will do as the BFL wants, and that probably means we will be stuck rather in the 90's.

Totally agree.
The clubs are drilled by the league to make sure they have their results through by 6.00pm sharp, then dont display them until nearly 8.00pm.

Great effort by the community radio station at Castlemaine on the weekend. Really good call by the Castlemaine boys up there.

With 3 full time employees working a total of 114 hours each week, you would think the task to keep their website up to date would be easy.

It may also help to promote the league and encourage more people to follow the football.

On a separate issue the BFL in 2010 introduced that visiting club members would pay half price entry to away games, they did this to increase crowd numbers.

Can someone please advice if it has increased crowd numbers or has cost clubs money with lower gate takings.

Does anyone know the the correct rule on how many games you are allowed to play in the seniors before you can't play finals in the two's?

I think if you play 8 (or 9?) senior games, you can't play reserves finals ...unless your senior side is also playing

In general, you have to play 5 games to qualify for finals

Predictions:

Who will finishing fifth?
Will Maddern kick his 100th goal?

I'll obviously be hoping Kyneton knocks off the Burra this week, so hoping that Kangaroo Flat finish fifth. Will be a tough game for them to win, though.

Harry's teammates will be trying desperately to get him his 100th goal, but I reckon he'll fall one short, aka Fevola two years ago.

I think he will get it. Has there been any talk on what he is doing next season??

YEAH, me too. I would like to c the Flat get 5th.
But gonna be a tough gig out @ Eaglehawk now that Tigga Downie has been rubbed out by the Tribunal for 4 weeks. Investigation came from round 15 @ end July by investigating officer Phil Norris. Maryborough player Murray Bond said he suffered one broken tooth and one bent out of shape.

Norris said he interviewed 7 witnesses.
Trib. chairman didn't agree the headbutt was accidental and scrubbbed Tigga for 4 weeks.
Only way he can play again in 2010 is if Roos make the grannie.

I think it was 107.5 fm
I'm pretty sure they only do Castlemaine home games.

HOOPSIE, expecting the 3bo boys back Sat nite for South v Maine ??

Then the next 2 Sat nights for the best of the qual/elim final BFl w-end, plus the best of the 1st/2nd semis Sat nite

Give the other boys a run for their money after a quiet 3bo since 8th May

Gotta be a good choice :thumbsu:

Absolutely, wouldnt think they would show up for tommorow night! Theyll be there for marquee grandstanding... Not freezing for a 200 point result! :thumbsu:

fill me in boys. how come tigers-flat-maine were all so putrid in last round. seems that harry just managed to get his ton before time ran out. wot happened with kyneton. my mates emailed and said they were going to put on a big effort but fish's boys blew em out of the water.
;) maryb any chance to beat s/hurst this week ??

Toss of the coin. Maryborough hittin some form and Hurst being less than impressive over the last month. Duescher and Holmes playin well for Bombers so wont expect them back.

2010 is over for everyone except Square and South anyway, so pretty boring really.

M'boro & Hurst have had a couple of good clashes this season, so could be another beauty this week. Sandhurst should surely be favourites, given their more consistent form and their superior brand of footy.

Kyneton were very competitive for the first half of Saturday's game, but stopped dead after that. Lack of fitness & personnel too much for them to cope with in the end.

Is it right that Maddern was gifted a 50m penalty to get his 100th? Well deserved either way.

Reckon that game will be a cracker, Maryborough in form and without Duescher and Holmes, it may go the way of the pies....

Yes Maddern did get a fifty one of his team mates(Doherty maybe) was taunting a Burra player and got knocked down sending Harry to 1m out!

Eaglehawk starting to find form with Robins and Herdman again, just think they are a genuine rotation in the guts off Square and South even with those two firing

Hey Zakster, will be interesting to see who 3BO have calling in the next few weeks, my mail is their only caller with any real game calling experience under the belt is overseas....maybe now theyll have to take that little quip of "Bendigos most passionate and experienced calling team" out of the guide!!!

That sounds like a free kick to Doherty, or whoever the Flat player was who was infringed against, rather than a 50 to Maddern. But as I said, he deserves a ton all the same.

The 3BO boys will be right they do a good job. It's only a matter of time until Sammy Fotu gives you a liverpool kiss Hoops! :D

Interesting matches this week in the finals and one where the underdogs in Eaglehawk and Mary Pies look a danger to the Bloods and Us.

I reckon South and the mighty Dragons might get through but only just.

We're back in the finals but I think we would need one finals win too say we've have made progress. We get this one under our belt and we will take some tossing in the semi.
