I see a lot of people just slotting an extra midfielder in, dropping white for Howe, which looks okay.

But who helps out Grundy or Witts in the ruck?

Langdon is not terrible by any stretch. He is a good, reliable defender but the bomb it long from the backline approach is old school

I like Witts and Grundy in same team, Witts up forward with Fasolo, Elliott, Varcoe and Broomhead buzzing around to apply the pressure.

I know most don't rate Sinclair, but he has pace and can play as our actual main shutdown small defender. Marley free to attack, Maynard similar to Toovey as an option to play taller if needed, but with a better kick.

Pick a bench from Langdon, Howe, Aish, Frost, Marsh, Goldsack, Blair, Toovey, Scharenberg, Ramsay, White or Moore.

Plenty of depth there!!

Frost is a great defender one on one but imo he just doesn't have the skills to make it in afl football. Watch any replay of any game this year. For a kick out the opposition will leave him free for the short kick to the pocket and know that the next one will be a long kick down the line to a contest. Turnover and repeat.

Agreed, I think Broomhead can reach Sidebottom's heights with good opportunities. Plus he has a bit more speed than I thought also.

Agreed, I think Broomhead can reach Sidebottom's heights with good opportunities. Plus he has a bit more speed than I thought also.

I am more thinking Broomy now has a hell of a job to get a game. 3 players have just gone ahead of him in the pecking order in Treloar, Aish and Howe. He doesn't get a game ahead of any of them. He wasn't quite best 22 before that. In hindsight Freeman and Kennedy have seen the writing on the wall and realised it will be tough to break into Collingwoods midfield.

Broomy has a bit to offer but where does he slot in .
