One point I really like to make and I think is important:

If our best side playing well does NOT contain these 4 players:

Goldsack, Toovey, Macaffer, Blair

We would have an improved team. One or two may play but all four suggests lots of injuries or stagnation or worse still the youngans haven't come on.
I like the four for their service but our next step is replacing this generation.

It would interesting to see what our team looks like in say 2018 assuming we don't know future drafts (we don't) so naming such a side with what we have

2018
Assuming swan and toovs has retired

Williams Brown Marsh
Shaz Reid Langdon
Aish Treloar Sidebottom
Elliott Cloke Broomhead

Grundy Pendlebury Adams

Crisp, Maynard, Witts Varcoe

Depth. Thomas, Keefe, Fas, Caff, Goldsack, White, Blair, Greenwood, Sinclair, Ramsey

Sounds about right
I think by then caff would have moved on with the golden sack. Who knows Blair might be struggling then.

2018 For me something like

Williams Marsh Langdon
Scharenberg Reid Maynard
Aish Treloar Sier
Crisp Moore Howe
Elliot Cloke Adams
Grundy Pendlebury (c) De Goey
Witts Greenwood Sidebottom Phillips

E Keefe Ramsay Crocker

Some players there will request a trade or be a FA

Yep, and some new entrants will come in. Newbies will succeed, some may fail.
All part of the rich tapestry of footy.

That said I like thinking about who maybe long term mainstays.
As an aside I really hope we get to see Scharenberg get a full injury free run at it.

I really don't think that Moore will be thrown out to dry as the back up ruckman - either white or witts will be best 22 as the Rick/3rd forward with Howe Elliott and fasolo\broomhead standing next to them

Guessing a prediction on the numbers for 2016

We were perfectly fine with throwing him the ruck this year.

Worst backline in the AFL for defensive rebound.

Grundy prefers to ruck the majority of the game, so I would guess Witts will struggle to get a spot unless he can become a genuine forward option.

The backup ruck should be a threat as a forward. While White has shown he can be serviceable at best, I prefer having him in the ruck over Moore because he's not always involved in the game as a forward.

What for a couple of meaningless games at the end of the year - they won't let the kid burn out by playing him number 2 ruck and forward there will be a witts or white watch this space

I don't doubt that Witts and White will get games but the club has shown faith in Moore's rucking ability and he'll be the second ruck in the important games.

Also why would the club let Moore ruck in a meaningless game if they were afraid he'd break?

Ditto. Good problem to have with so many others capable of coming in, is that these guys will need to be playing good footy to keep their spots...

Gonna be a very good season for us next year and an even better period over the next 4-5 years.

Buckleys Mona Lisa is starting to take shape.
