Backline looks a smidgeon top-heavy. Apart from that, fine effort.

I have Gunston playing first round, possible first 10 or so, he has busted his chops to be primed and ready to go. Maybe Weddle to the bench and one of Ward or Mackenzie misses out. We will need that extra tall forward and gives Sam some more flexibility with Sis and possibly Hardwick. Frost can play small too.

We may get a pleasant surprise with Gunston. He's looking slimmer than ever before.
Those 3 to 5 kg he's she'd may make a lot of difference. It may also help injury wise.

I reckon Gunner kicks 35 goals next year but with more assists!/score involvements (which indicates he's doing more work and getting into dangerous positions).
Merry Christmas to all.

Impey Barrass Scrimshaw
Sicily Battle Amon
Mackenzie Nash D’Ambrossio
Moore Weddle Macdonald
Watson Chol Hardwick

Meek Newcombe Day

Worpel Gunston Ginnivan Jiath Breust
Emer: Morrison Frost Ward

I’ll change my mind 300 times between now and march 🤣

So close, pre-season will have folk changing their minds.
For now, I’d go with Frost for CJ.

Looks good 👍

I think our starting 23 is much more settled going into 2025 than it was going into 2024 where we had Chol, Ginni, Massimo, Meek all claim spots in the team.

For me the main watch will be to see if Scaife can claim a spot as our Key Forward. His pre season form will play a large part in that.

I think everyone's 23 will be pretty similar apart from tinkering around the edges (Morrison, Maginness, Jiath).

Best 22 no injuries, everyone healthy:

Frost Battle Barrass
Impey Amon Hardwick

Massimo Newcombe Weddle

Moore Ginni Wizard
Sicily Lewis Chol

Meek Worpel Day

Interchange: Nash Srimma CMac Calsher
Sub - Frenchie

Depth: Gunston Bruest CJ Ward Blank Hustwaite Morrison Maginniess McCabe Mitchell Reeves Serong

Obviously to start the year there will be some changes, however I think this is the best team we can field

That depth is pretty nuts

First attempt:
(Omitting Lewis and Dear due to injury).
Disclaimer: This is MY best side. Not necessarily trying to reach for what I think will happen.

B. Impey Barrass Scrimshaw
HB. Amon Battle Sicily
C. Weddle Newcombe D'Ambrosio
HF. Moore Gunston Macdonald
F. Watson Chol Ginnivan

Foll. Meek Day Worpel
IC. Hardwick Nash Maginness Mackenzie
Sub: Breust

Never in a million years did I expect to have Finn in my best side, but he's shown an ability to play in every third of the ground.
From this starting line-up, Hardwick is your 7th defender or extra marking forward target.
Nash is your first midfield rotation, and Frenchy is second.
Finn becomes the extra man in whichever line the game dictates.
The sub shouldn't still exist, but Punky is the most suited for it. Otherwise, it has to Josh Ward or Harry Morrison.
CJ isn't suited to the sub role IMO, but I'd have him as depth for the rebounding defender position.

Really want Sic to be our CHF, at least until Mitch is back.
Reminds me a lot of Dermie, a little undersized, but strong in the contest, clever and a good mark overhead.
He, Scrim and Battle can't play in the same backline and he's the most tantalizing of the trio up forward. I think that it happens given the injuries to Lewis and Dear. It could prove to be a masterstroke decision forced out of a necessity up forward and a glut of players being able to play that intercept role in defence. I'm truly excited to see how Mitch plays these 3 guys next year. Another unexpected problem to throw at the opposition next year carrying on from last year.

What’s awesome is maybe that’s where he plays at the start of the year and when Dear and Lewis are back who likely goes back again. We will need to do what it takes to get those early wins and chess pieces will need to be moved.

Hopefully by years end we have the wins and a farkn stupid backline

Why couldn't they play in the same backline? Impey, Hardwick and maybe alsi Frost and Amon could/would play on the smalls.

I appreciate that it doesn't really leave us with tall targets in the F50, but that's a quick, mobile and extremely skilful team.
