Ed Hawkins write a book about match fixing over a decade ago called ‘Bookie, Gambler, Fixer, Spy’. Doesn’t address this match specifically but draws some parallels between what was going on at the time in ODI’s with match fixing and this moment. It was far too easy for book makers to infiltrate and alter results.
There is an amazing few chapters on the results of the 2011 World Cup final where India beat Pakistan and how a bookmaker described to the author in real time how the match would play out.

For a long time after reading that book I didn’t trust close results or abnormalities in matches.

I would think it’s pretty clean now as far as players are concerned but I still have fears over what umpires can do to alter matches. It was only 5-10 years ago that Assad Rauf admitted to taking money to give shitty decisions

Great (and very long) article explaining why WA has got to the dominant position it currently has.
Other states, and even Australia, could learn a lot from how the WACA has been run under Matthews.
Just shows that the calls to 'have a draft' or various other proposals to effectively weaken WA are bulls**t. Punish success and drag the successful and well run to the lowest common level.

The WACA is basically a lesson in leadership, succession planning, team building and everything you want in in a competitive team environment.

Wyllie is been found out badly at the next level in the AUS A V NZ A game, hopefully it's a good learning experience for him.

He does, however, worry me as he does edge the ball a lot and gives the catchers behind the wicket extra reason to concentrate.

I take it this A side is really just a development squad. i.e. not the next in line.

Harris ahead of Renshaw and Bancroft ............FFS.

Bog average bat and a total liability in the field.

George Bailey is starting to worry me.

What’s with the IPL uniforms looking less and less unique this year? Lucknow has gone from turquoise to blue and basically the same as Mumbai and Gujarat. RCB and SRH pretty much look identical now that the latter’s orange is basically red now. RCB and KKR both have the metallic gold pads and helmets

Fold the IPL

Edits - got my teams mixed up. Fixed now

Good captain’s knock by Aaron Hardie for Aus A against the Kiwi A side today.
115 out of a team score of only 253.

Teague Wyllie made 37 batting at six. A blob for Philippe batting at seven though. His red ball form is miles off his white ball game.

Green looks out of his depth in the IPL.

Teams have to stop splurging big on unproven players.
I think they should be opening with him.
Tim David at 7!

The prices are often Indian businessmen just dick swinging.
It'd often not about the player.

Warner is getting runs but his strike rate for an opener is abysmal.
