This thread has honestly become a fantasy land where our supporters over rate our own players and underate supposed targets. We wont land stringer or gaff, the hypotheticals are exhausting. Can we get back to reality and realise that we wont make any MAJOR moves this offseason. We have nothing to offer

You say that we are all in fantasy land, but go on to say we have nothing to offer... We have the currency to get any deals done that we deem fit. If Gaff wants to come to the Hawks and the Eagles are willing to let him go with a season to run on his contract we would get a deal done.

We have a chunk of players over the age of 28 on our list that would be considered expendable at the right price and could be an important piece to the puzzle for teams in a premiership window. We have the same amount of picks as every other club minus our first round pick this season. We lose this one pick and everyone talks as if we have 0 currency to offer for any players.

Well we have a 2018 first round pick and a long list of players..... if the thread annoys you that much, maybe don't read it???

I think people are seeing picks as purely speculative and a lotto. They generally are. But maybe people should be open to the possibility that Hawthorn actually really wants a particular player whether through the draft or a trade

Not much this year, but previous years he had stints on ball.
He was so damaging up forward in previous years, that they needed him there.

He's the exact kind of elite talent we need to be trying to get back in to the club. At his best he'd cost just as much as any young star in terms of first round picks. He's at his lowest possible point atm. Get him to the club ASAP.

This is simply crap. We have a list full of players who will gain interest from other clubs.

Yep , you just have to be prepared to move a quality player for the right picks to get the deal done. After last year there's no doubt Clarko still has the stones to make a hard call.

5 Clubs linked to Devon Smith. Are we one?

Salary cap issues presumably forcing him out of GWS. Could he transition into a midfielder?
He wants to play more midfield. Not sure how interested we are though.

When he says more midfield, does he mean as a 'centre square mid', as a 'wingman' or maybe even in the role of a rover/follower, listed as HFF but starting off the defensive side of the square & running forward, like Gunston/Brooost did a bit this season?

I wonder what his expectations are from himself & his future club?

Gaff the better option suits are inside players jaeger and mitchell
Becomes a free agent next year so wouldn't want to pay too much. Havingvsaid that he'll have a lot of suitors given he made the initial AA squad of 40 players which will push his price up

Hawks are shit, don't have and have never had any good players.
All the other clubs are awesome with all the desirables.

Two Victorian clubs are trying to lure Andrew Gaff back to his home state, Mitch Cleary reports.

The West Coast midfielder is contracted but could be on the move in the trade period.

“Hawthorn and St Kilda are both chasing his signature,” the Sportsday newsbreaker said.

Cleary suggested Gaff may have been copping flak from his teammates about a possible move during the club’s end of season celebrations.

St. Kilda holds the aces with 1st round draft picks if this is indeed the case.

My understanding is Gaff, though open to a move to Melbourne, isn't instigating a trade with West Coast; moreover, he isn't putting a gun to anyone's head and telling people he wants to go to this club.

If wc want hartung, gaff says he is probably off next year, and gaff says NO to saints, which are all very possible, things will roll pretty quickly
