No one worth chasing this year imo. Think we are better off using whatever value our aging stars have to try and get back into the draft either this year or next. Start trying to inject quality through the draft and develop our own talent to complement our young players rather than poach from others

How far up the draft do you think we would need to trade up to in order to get your man? Top ten, top five and who else would try and gazump us.
Here in lays the risk of trading out quality in order to get a draft pick only to have someone come in and steal the prize, risky.

Pick 12 to Pick 16 range

So much talk of the Package having off field issues, just like Dusty did when no one wanted a bar of him a few years back. I think they are very similar players and look at Dusty right now, he is bloody unstoppable. Stringer is worth the risk at the right price.

Yeah he is for sure given the fact he's only 23 years of age..

The price is likely to be unders given they are walking him out the door. Guy has serious top end talent - hope we are making our pitch to him

Depends how much of the stories about Stringer and his issues are true.

From what Bob Murphy said this week about the discussions with Stringer having been had for the last 2 years, and it not coming as a shock that they club has decided to cut ties, I'm thinking they're on the mark.

We need a Stringer type in our midfield but we don't want a player that is toxic and divisive to the playing group. A club will take the gamble because of his natural talent, probably the Cats who are desperate to fix a disfunctional forward line and still think they are in the premiership window.

Here's a summary of his whole segment:

"I understand it's believed within the industry that there's potentially a feeling of there being scope on the cards for maybe a possibility of him perhaps moving clubs in that space."
So what you are saying is it's a lock and we can give him the number 6 now?

Is he even capable of playing midfield, is the question.

Gaff and rockliff for me - will it happen? No. But it is nice to sit and picture a centre line of
Gaff | Mitchell - JOM - Rockliff | Smith
we might get one, unlikely we get both
If we are going for one Gaff would be my preference
