Meh.....2013, 14 & 15 is still very satisfying. So it will be a slow rebuild and that's what you get when you keep finishing in the top 8. Can't have it both ways.

Exactly... another year of development in 2018 and a top 5 pick in super draft isn't such a bad thing... throw in the huge amount of $$$ they will have in the kitty to try for a tom lynch or rory Sloane end of next season... those that actually think this current team can challenge next year are dreaming.. next year will be much more enjoyable than this season, because most supporters won't be expecting unrealistic things to happen like a lot did last year.
Disappointing trade period. Thought we would go hard on a quality midfielder like rocky or gibbs to help t mitchell. Could have been the difference between finals next year. We got trounced in the midfield last year. Are we no longer a destination club?
Plenty of teams hardly did anything - Collingwood, Sydney, St. Kilda - because there was nothing there to improve their team, like us. Why trade for trading's sake? And Schache? There's too many what ifs with him - Bulldogs got desperate at the end there.

Trade comes before draft as it does each year, who is going to nominate us now we have a 1st round pick to trade?
This 'destination club' speak is rubbish. Stockpiling players that aren't really wanted by their clubs doesn't make it a great trade period. There's a reason why they're available. And Gibbs was never going to go anywhere but S.A.

We bought in Impey who gives more speed and we haven't lost any speed elsewhere
We didn't get Schache, who cares?

We kept our draft picks for next year and we have picks this year to use on hidden gems
Players are returning from injury and we have still great potential in Lovell for instance who I personally rate very highly
