Wowsers if the above comes to fruition, just on the weekends team against the Gold Coast, we would have: Edwards, Grimes, Conca, Aish, Yarran come into the 22.

Boy oh boy wowee, what a team!

FB: Grimes Rance Batchelor
HB: Houli Chaplin Vlastuin
C: Edwards Cotchin Ellis
HF: Martin Vickery Deledio
FF: Yarran Riewoldt Lennon
Fol: Maric Miles Grigg
Int: Conca, Aish, Lambert, C Ellis, McIntosh, Castagna, Menadue... etc

Edit - forgot Grigga!

Where would we play Yarran? Surely we have enough run off the half back atm? At the moment he plays the same role as Houli but I don't think he is as good defensively. Perhaps he could become a half forward running back into space but really I just can't see where he would play at present. Aish on the other hand would make a handy addition to the midfield rotations as would Motlop though I feel gaining him is becoming an increasing pipe dream.

I would hate to lose Griff or McBean especially since I don't feel we have given McBean a big enough chance to prove himself this year. He obviously needs to bulk up and gain in confidence but if we traded him he could easily become our next Shultz (sp?) and tear it up elsewhere.

Love it. Bottom 6 is solid. Would still keep Grigg on his form this year though.
Definitely need another hard bodied inside mid that can extract out to Aish, Ellis etc. perhaps Vlastuin??

Have to play him forward. That's where we need to improve and it's where he has had the best impact in games IMO.

Ahh, knew I forgot someone! Grigg should definitely be in there.

I'd be looking at drafting a big bodied mid in the later rounds. Heard a bit about Clayton Oliver - sounds decent

What I want to know is how does Collingwood continue to be quality players club of choice? Surely paying overs for players is going to come back and haunt them? This is the second year in a row where they have secured a talent young player from GWS that we were also trying to obtain. What do they have over us? Surely it can't be onfield success, facilities, crowd size or home ground being the MCG? We tick all those boxes. Is it that Eddie is a better salesman?

Starting to sh.it. me really. Aish would be a strong addition but Trealor could be our number one midfielder in years to come.

3rd year in a row

2013 Adams
2014 Greenwood
2015 Trealor

They will pay overs for all 3.
But they also lose players in the process, one could argue that they aren't really ahead, they have lost Shaw, Lamumba, Beams to get Adams and Greenwood and could also lose a promising young player to get Treloar.

You would play Yarran in the role we would have had for knights if he was fit. HHF, that way he can use his two strengths. his speed to press up in the midfield when needed and race forward and also his disposal, his field kicking is elite. Also and i have to stop myself from getting to excited till its actually done but my god, having lids and yarran both able to boot long goals from outside 50...then mix up with Martin doing the same...what a deadly offensive weapon that could work out to be.

Also gives us huge flexibility. if houli is being tagged out of the game, which kills our run, then switch Yarran to that role, to force there tagger to change opponent to release houli again. It means that the club finally realizes that Dusty needs to be played as a offensive midfielder not a defensive, set up play mid that he has been doing.

Ive said it a few times, the Pies will one up every other team with Treloar because they see him as the gun midfielder to replace Beams and pick up the Pendlebury/ Swan mantle.

The connection of Treloar to Pies isnt agreed between anyone from what I have heard. Just that the Pies have the biggest and best offer on the table. If Treloar nominates the Tigers it will be for chasing success as opposed to dollar amount.

Right now I dont believe he is worth what the Pies are preparing to pay. By year 3 - I think it will be a steal.

Scharenberg apparently wants out too. Which has more to do with location than club, money or opportunity for what I have heard.

Yeah HFF for mine. He is best 22 for the Tiges for mine. Interesting though is whether this kills the 3 prong forward line. I can see it being something like:

Deledio Vickery Lennon
Yarran Riewoldt Lambert/Edwards /Martin (essentially an extra midfielder)

Can you fit McBean/ Griffiths into the best 22?

Could lose Scharenberg this year

For anyone interested, here's a full list of Free Agents from this year. I still wonder (haven't heard anything) if we'd have a chat to Kreuzers people?

Updated: With list this time!

I don't see it impossible that we could get Aish & Yarran this year.

Send our first pick 2015 to Brisbane for Aish

Send our first rounder for next year (2016) to Carlton for Yarran.

Which is why we can afford to trade a tall.
