Papley's forward pressure is not good enough for his scoring return. At the asking price of a first rounder (or more), just forget about it.

We need speed in the team, on every line, with an eye toward endurance and footy IQ alongside that. Papley doesn't really offer that. Fisher, Owies and Cuningham are developing nicely enough for the forward group, there's no immediate pressure there.

The bigger issue is help for Cripps at the stoppage longer term, though that's likely to be solved using existing players.

Shiel in our team with our midfield and he'd be a a vastly better player.. he's literally carrying that Essendon midfield, except he's not a Cripps extraction behemoth who can do that. If he was receiving on the outside from Cripps, Curnow and heck even Walsh... he'd be loving life.

Oh well, his choice. Now he has to live with those Bummers and their reliance on him.

People getting back into it/new members are probably more likely to go for a 3 game membership for around 100 bucks than a captain's club reseverved seat for 8 times that
