Turd Bowl.

It's just a picture......

I haven't heard for sure (not willing to bet my reputation on it) but my little birds are telling me Yarran is going (major off-field issues). The talk everywhere is Richmond but murmurs are coming through is he may want to go home to WA (again, don't take my word for it, new source, still unreliable).

On Carlisle, my personal opinion is that he has a higher ceiling than Hendo. He's bigger for a start, a better forward, more presence etc. Probably even faster, but I don't know that for sure.
But he does not want to play as a forward. Isn't that one of the reasons for the fallout with *

This from Richmond board

"Ben is a great kid. He went to Ivanhoe Grammar with my son, also played football together in some of their U19 games when the school side didn't play.

He is very unhappy with the offer Richmond have in front of him. Growing up he was a mad Carlton supporter, SOS in particular was his boyhood idol. SOS is aware that he is unhappy with Richmond's offer and is open to a move to Carlton. The decision to drop him along with a small increase is why he is looking to move.

Ben is a great kid but he has been treated poorly by Richmond with their latest offer. His dad was a mad Carlton supporter too."

automatic pass right there.

Well this is probably true.

But IMO players need to STFU and play where they're told to. If they're good at the position I don't see what the problem is, it's about the best thing for the team after all.

too true T2B_ . those teams at the top is where you clearly see that shine. It is a combination of what is best for the team and player.
Get the type of player who has that attitude and ability and bang, team success.

Except Carlisle is a better defender than forward just like Hendo...then their output drops, they aren't as happy, supporters start bagging them out, they earn less $$$ on their next contract...its a snowball effect.

Realistically, players have to be versatile but its pretty stupid to play players in positions they aren't as good at. Eg Hendo as a forward. If we have a hole up forward, we should do something about it and get a KPF, not turn a quality KPD into an average KPF.

He stated 4 x clubs, 2 x VIC and 2 x non-VIC right? Or did he name us specifically as one of them?

Bolts said on SEN that we'll only be taking on guys in the 28-30 bracket 'if they have outstanding leadership'. Not sure Stevie J fits that bracket nor do I understand why he'd come to us.

I think Carlton may want him as a player coach much like the Giants did with Power, Cornes and Brogan.

I'd rather we approach someone more professional if we were to go that route, Kelly or Adcock are a hell of a lot more appealing to have mentoring the young fellas.

Disagree! Spent some time with sj years ago overseas & he has a great footy brain! Also nothing wrong with injecting some fun into a club

Lennon sounds sooky. Cracking the sads for not being a regular in a top 8 side in his 2nd year of AFL. Also has a massive Tiger tattoo now.

Would rather McBean. Fills a need, is a hard worker and has a heaaap of upside. Perfect to sit at CHF for the next decade.

I think he has some cause to be a bit upset over being dropped before final for no real justification.
McBean doesn't strike me as someone who will have a long career at AFL level.
Plus we have Foster developing with the Northern Blues and may get a forward somewhere in this years draft anyway.
