I still value a McKay/Curnow/TDK higher than a Petracca. Especially the first two who have signed on long term with the club.

It's been clearly established that isn't the case. We've come out in the media and said neither of Charlie or Harry are involved. Rumour providers on here have confirmed the same with TDK. Cripps, Walsh and Weitering are clearly not on the table. It's been discussed at length in here that clubs can almost make anything work in the Salary Cap. We were also publicly rumored to have offered Haywood a long term contract on circa $800k so we clearly have at least that salary available.

It's clear we won't do a deal for Petracca if it costs us a contracted player or if it costs too much from a salary cap way in the context of our players taking unders. So if the deal is good for us, we do it. If it isn't we don't get Petracca. I think any other position, i.e we do the deal but it damages our side through trading a contracted player or overpaying Petracca and upsetting our stars, is unlikely and pessimistic.

He has publicly said wants to go to an MCG Tenant with a bigger fanbase than Melbourne to play in front of bigger crowds in more important games. That really only leaves the Big 4. We also assume he wants to go to a competitor and not a basketcase. That takes out Richmond and Essendon. The club also has to have some way of satisfying Melbourne. That removes Collingwood who have no pick this year and no players of value to trade. By process of elimination, its Carlton.

think the underrated thing about Petracca is his forward craft is exceptional. As he gets closer to his mid-30s he will still be very damaging when he cant play full games in the midfield

I thought that of Dustin Martin, thought he could easily play out of the square Leigh Matthew’s style and kick lots of goals when his years playing through the middle of the ground were over.

The end comes very fast when you lose the hunger, I tip my lid to Pendles, Boomer, Bartlett et al it’s a tough bloody game and you have to be mentally 110% in it.
