2025 will only be his 6th year so free agency status won’t come into affect.

A trade will be required but it’s usually a bit easier to get what you want for less when not contracted. But who knows.

SDK doesn’t fix my 2 main concerns and that’s our midfield and forward line.
This, that’s what I’m a little worried about as well. For mine more speed is pretty important this trade period imo

Really feel this offseason is crucial we get it right on and off the field. If we don’t and we get off to a bad start I feel Vossy will come under a lot of pressure and next year could be another wasted season.

We have to get our recruiting, drafting, trading, free agency, off field appointments - coaching department and Innes fitness plan for 2025 and beyond, all spot on.

Nailed it. It's this simple.

If you don't agree or don't like what I post that is your decision. No issue at all BUT why the crap and personal attacks. It's seflish, poor and just ruins it for everyone. Positive is it's only a few

Like the majority on here I hang out for info from people like EP and M3. It's awesome
Yep. Keep it up.

Nick Watson pick 5
Calsher Dear pick 56
Logan Morris pick 31
Darcy Wilson pick 18

So on and so forth don’t agree with your 2 years. It’s not that easy to pigeon hole draftees like that
or they turn out to be like the 95% of draftees that dont really impact their first year at all

Young is not SDK?
Do you think a first year draftee would have done better?

Also, the team was cooked. Had been for weeks.

The point of an SDK—if he’s durable—is that he reduces the chance of [emoji[emoji6]]-week long form slumps. By what %, no idea. But if we he playing for us this year, I don’t think we have the same slump, even with the injuries.

To be clear, we’d still lose. He’s not magic. But I think we win the games we should have.

His 2022 was outstanding but, through (major) injury and form, he hasn’t reached the same heights since. Geelong also have an elite defensive unit, which may have made him look better than he was if he came to us.

Not trying to disparage him at all, but you’d want to be confident that he can regain his 2022 form if we were to give up pick 11.
Um when Tom Stewart was injured for a final they picked Mullin and Bews (both are average) ahead of Sam against a Port tall with a very tall forward line....

Real cherry pick Juddy, how many 18 year olds had an impact this year from pick 11 onward in last year's draft, apart from those last 3 names

That's the best you come up with? Young is not SDK... so you believe that

1. SDK would have prevented the 9.6 goal head start we gave the Lions??

2. Young was responsible for our 9.6 goal deficit??

How about accepting reality that despite a second KPD being an area of concern, its not anywhere near our biggest problem?

A first year draftee is not going to do better... but 2 first round picks that help address our bigger issues is a much smarter way to build a premiership side going forward...

Answer me this, if SDK is the answer to us "getting it done", why is it that we were 60-0 against the Lions despite Young doing a solid job?

Also, the team was cooked. Had been for weeks.

Anyway, it's a moot point. History.

Hypothetically, lets say we spent this years pick as a 'future first', it would have been likely anyone from P11 - 15 in the 2023 draft. Not sure any of those names would have made a difference either, and as you said, we'd still lose.

No Point speculating.

Of course cherry picking, just doing what most here do… But it shows not all players take 2 years like the post I quoted. You should know this

Correct.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
18 year olds wouldn't be expected to, but if this draft has similarities to 2018's, then several picks could set you up for a decade.
One or two traded in players aren't guaranteeing any premierships either.
