Rumour Bluemour Discussion XXXVI - 'Loopy' Season in full swing

I find it a little odd that while Soap mentioned he knows the player but has been asked not to say, Glicksy comes along all guns blazing and yet has the same information and doesn't share the name despite being happy enough to dox his sources.
It does seem illogical not to mention the name.

The hints were:
  • not a ‘game changer’ but fills a need
  • his club would look to free up their SC if other trades went their way

Adelaide now seem to have Neale-Bullen, Peatling and Cumming locked in.

Could it be Rachelle?

Rachele would be the very definition of a gamechanger

Rachelle would be very handy.
Its only early, silly season hasn’t even started & to me it feels like it could be sillier than most!
Brisbane could cause some shit looking for Joes replacement (my money is on Darling, hopefully it’s quick).
Draft is supposed to be deep, clubs will want in, cap dumps could come from any direction & I think we will see a heap of movement.

I am expecting this trade and draft period to be a fizzer and not address a majority of our positional needs. I think we are backed into the corner with our list management decisions, although I think a bigger problem has been our management and development of players during season.

We are not getting Houston. We simply don’t have the tradeable currency. Even if we were able to get the GC pick with a future first it still won’t be enough to get a deal done unless we split our current first. Houston is worth a pick in the 5-10 range or 2 mid/ late first rounders. We won’t have that currency without sacrificing the next 2 drafts. This would be madness. And I agree with port we are being delusional.

Putting up Kennedy , Owies and Young and expecting to get back any meaningful draft / trade currency is all well off the mark. These players are all limited footballers. Good enough to be on a list as depth at best. We should retain Kennedy and Owies on 1 year deals.

Haynes is very underwhelming imo. He was a good player a few years back with his athleticism to play 3rd tall defender. He has lost that and has recent injury form. Wasted list spot as he sits behind McGovern and Kemp in that role and does not have the strength to play key back. Young should be delisted. We are not winning finals with him as a key back.

I think the best outcome we can expect is via the draft with 4-5 selections. Use our first on Berry or Lindsay. We desperately need better ball users with agility and nous.

We won’t get GC 13 with our future first. Our future first probably values between 15-20 in this draft. If we can get in that range we can start targeting positional needs for the future.

If we can get another selection before the campo bid/ bids we can end of with a decent draft haul. I just don’t see any players we can trade in this year that are a match for our needs and come at cost that we can manage from a salary cap and trade perspective.

We have to work with what we currently have next year and hope that our current young group , eg Moir Lord, etc along with new draftees develop at a rapid pace.

Quite a premature post with trade period not even started.

Had a conversation with a certain someone this morning and they didn’t share anything earth shattering by any means, but this was the jist.

Believes Houston wants to come to us, but does not believe we will get him, he 100% wants him as he feels he makes us a better side. He made an interesting point about his influence at stoppage, believes the addition would help our mids as many oppo half forwards push up to stoppage as they don’t believe our backs are damaging enough and Dan’s addition would help in this space enormously in addition to the natural skill and ability he possesses. Voss is all in on him, but list management won’t sell the farm (this we all know).

Loves Ollies flexibility and they want him to eventually become a mid and he may get minutes as early as next year.

He said some interesting stuff about Lij, believes he won’t ever be a true mid, he’s better being on the outside of a stoppage to use his strengths, not clean enough in tight, but elite just outside the bubble.

Walsh, he’s the player all of our supporters believe we need, just wasn’t able to show it as much this year due to limited prep, watch out next year in terms of the inside outside mix and dash.

I should see my contact same time next week so will try and get more info.
I know this site is no questions, but who the hell is Lij, as it`s driving me crazy!!!

If you want to have a good ole chuckle, feast your eyes on BigFooty user VainGlorious many misses over his career as an armchair recruiter.

1 - Wanted Weideman over McKay pre-draft :drunk:

2 - Wanted to recruit Billings from the Saints

3 - Wanted to recruit Hannebery on big coin from the Swans

4 - Wanted to split pick 1 (Walsh) into two top 15ish picks (liked Butters and B. Sniff/Caldwell)

5 - Thought Josh Schache could be given a rookie spot

6 - Wasn’t overly enamoured with TDK

7 - Was ecstatic when we got SPS/Stocker. Thought both would still be on the list.

And finally

8 - Wanted Luke Dunstan in the 2013 draft ;)

There’s more, I swear.

Also just reading North at 2 and West coast at 3 have their picks up for trade. North looking for top 10 and future first. Miss Houston this is what we should look to do somehow.

Every mornin' when I wake from my bed
I find I'm bawlin', just searchin' the thread
I face the brawlin', a feeling of dread
Baby, I've been googling all alone

Well, every daybreak as I wake from my sleep
I find a Bluemour someone's dragged from the deep
If I were Stringer, I'd be a junk-yard heap
Sources don't lie, sources don't lie, talkin' 'bout the Bluemour Zone

And everybody said, "What's that sound?"
Put it in the Bluemour thread and they slap it all around
And everybody said, "Houston wants to go home"
Still thinking 'bout the great unknown
Still thinking 'bout installing Chrome

Well, all these drop-ins are just draggin' me down
They've been postin' things they found in the underground
Like a 'Tracc-less team, we're draft day bound
Christian's sitting at the Demons all alone

No clarity, no whiteboard calls
A big stampede when a Pascoe post falls
The responses full of gnashes and mauls
How're we gonna buy him? How're we gonna buy him?
Gotta give the fans a bone

And everybody said, "What's that sound?"
Put it in the Bluemour thread and they can slap it all around
And everybody said, "Houston wants to come home"
Still thinking 'bout the great unknown
Still thinking 'bout installing Chrome
Tired of thinking 'bout the Bluemour Zone

Well, I've been livin' a categorical lie
Each last post the penultimate high
Just one more hit before I can die
The cynics, they are snappin' all around

Well, every day of the week as I wake from my bed
I find I'm bawlin' just searchin' the thread
If I were Austin, I think it'd go to my head
Sources don't lie, sources don't lie, talkin' 'bout the Bluemour Zone

What is a James Reyne and can it go through the midfield? 😁

Probably not the right thread but can fully see a scenario where Daniher has a year off next year and then links up with the Swans
Nah, he nearly retired years ago

He told my old boss at a dinner he was at (he’s good friends with Joey’s schoolmates) that he was contemplating retiring and would just take a gig in footy media outside of Victoria

Just not that interested in playing footy, despite his enormous talent
