Why would Port give away an up and coming key position forward which is what they need. And what does Collingwood have to trade for him, as it stands they don’t even have a first round pick this year.Rumours on the Pies board is that the deal for Houston and Ollie Lord is already agreed with the Power.
Don’t see it changing…This is boring !!
Throw me a bone people - I'll even take a trade for a Sam Kerridge or Aaron Mullett at this rate.
Membrey? (I have no opinion about it)Interesting how he mentioned key position depth as an item on the agenda.
He said key position defender I think.Membrey? (I have no opinion about it)
Make it something Benny won’t enjoy
“Matt Owies currently without a deal for 2025”
Have stated numerous times that Owies has not received a contract offer from Carlton
Was in context of draft targetsMembrey? (I have no opinion about it)
Spot onThe Owies situation is like when Dimma tells the story of him complaining to Balme.."why did you trade (insert name) I would have picked him every week". Balme responded "that's why we traded him, we need better and you were not going to play anyone new"
Membrey? (I have no opinion about it)
Lost Coleman & McInerny…..They weren't as far off the pace as we are. They were 4 points off a flag and added Will Ashcroft.
Think there is a chance he might end up staying with us for about half of what he was wanting…..“Matt Owies currently without a deal for 2025”

If Collingwood get Houston unfortunately it will be a cheaper acquisition compared to what we will get him for….People seem so thrilled not to give Port 'what they want' and don't care about getting Houston. Just watch another team thrive with him.
We have enough quality defence do we?
Would you say Doc and Guv are the durable sorts?
Just throw SOS down there you say?
You wanna scramble again like we did all year?
Who's gonna fill in? Lewis? Mmm.
Who do we have that's coming in as a kpd?
Maybe there are a few almost ready to play?
Who? How many?
Williams plays forward now. Marchy has gone.
HAynes...yes. 32yo. I hope he's durable.
I just don't get the almost gleeful 'we don't need him' chorus.
Cos I reckon we'd be greatly enhanced with him.
No. I'm not saying sell the farm.
But please try very hard to find a way Austin.
Our time is now.
Maybe losing almost all our backline has made me somewhat sensitive around this.
Cheers, SamWeiters is extremely close (as good as done apparently). Wouldn't shock me if they announced it at the JNM and it wouldn't be the first time for him.
All I was told was to expect a couple of things "you'll be very happy with."
Vague but re-signings or hirings was what came immediately to mind.

A lot of what you mentioned doesn't really relate to Houston. We do have an issue with depth for KPDs but Houston in no way helps us with that. If anything it hinders our ability to trade for or pick up players in that draft that can play in that position. In terms of half backs we have Saad and Newman who are locks in our top 10-12 players picked each week. Then have Cowan, Boyd, Wilson who also play that HB/BP role - I personally have Cowan/Boyd in my early best 23 for next season. Then on top of that we have O.Hollands who played well at HB in the last few matches of this season.People seem so thrilled not to give Port 'what they want' and don't care about getting Houston. Just watch another team thrive with him.

Would be costing them more than 13 & Richard’s if that’s the case surely…..Rumours on the Pies board is that the deal for Houston and Ollie Lord is already agreed with the Power.
I'd say it's more about a capped price, rather than not being interested, despite what's been stated previouslyListening to Austin, doesn’t sound like Houston is a real priority and the draft is the focus which I like too
At what point in the interview did Austin state this?“Matt Owies currently without a deal for 2025”
