Is there any reason why there's no talk or indication of us chasing Tom Barrass? Surely he'd be a much better fit to our needs than Houston, and cost less.
Maybe because Tom Barass hasn't given any indication he wants to play for Carlton?

Not sure how they can overpay. Unless it's with players.
Yep and it's not like anyone of relevance has been mentioned on the trade table..
Patience. Also Overpaying is easier with less assets. Buying a Ferrari on 250k a year is an overpay. Buying one with a 100mn trust fund is not. Perspective. They've got no assets. They're old. Leppa told everyone how desperate they were for Houston. They'll overpay.

They will just take on the contract he is already on?
After their top few guns, there isn't much to overpay with teamwise?

I had a conversation with recruiter from GWS minutes ago, having a coffee!

Most deals already sorted, AFL would 'like' to have them rolled out closer to deadline, so it fills the news and attracts listeners to radio! (It's a rort)
I’ve been saying this for years (and also had it confirmed by a semi-reliable source).

It’s all theatrics, AFL exposure, and clicks.

They only really need about 3 days to sort their deals out - the rest is just tripe and some sick backpedaling from the journos.

The days to pay attention to in trade week are the final one or two. That’s it, and that’s all.
