I really don't think that's true.
Whatever the merits or otherwise of recruiting Fantasia, if we didn't get him then it would have been another draftee on a 2 year deal.
We would have had the same list squeeze.
Agree recruiting Fantasia was a boo boo, and retaining Sam Durdin is another one, dumbfounding, they should both be relisted asap. Our List needs a further clean up, probably after trade period..
And 1 less for Charlie to fly against…. Durdin also needs a copy of the memo !!

just been geeking out on Matt Owies' stats this year
he played in 11 games against finalists for 10 goals
he played in 5 games against the bottom 4 for 10 goals
he played in 7 games against the decent non finalists for 13 goals
so 1 goal avg against the best (we went 5-5 in those games)
2 goal avg against the rest
hes a solid player who is a very good shot for goal (33-13 - 71.7% accuracy).
we nearly all love him. its frustrating and sad, but not the end of the world

If its true that Owies was getting in the road of Charlie's leading lane (not from what I saw), it was probably a good thing.

Nah what's loopy is being literal instead of understanding just to stick to a stance that was clearly very wrong.
That Dan Houston guy got pretty good at 25/26. Wasn't anywhere before that.... Every single team has mids and talls who improved markedly after 26.

if someone is happy to drag the data from afl stats.....
I remember when it was 1 week for a little while - if a week, may have even been Monday-Friday - and teams complained it wasn't enough time, so it went to 2 weeks, which was obviously too long. Now we're seeing that even 10 days is too much.
The clubs just want to faff about and posture for days at a time, fluffing their egos. Teams know what teams want and what players want days/weeks before the trade period. Get in and get it done, this is just a waste of everyone's time.
