Travis Cloke as coachsensing a lot of smoke and shadows behind the windows
I can hear the fire alarms from here...sensing a lot of smoke and shadows behind the windows
Fair enough and I can see both sides as well and nothing wrong with healthy discussion.I said it's ALL guess work. That includes how Cerra's career pans out, but considering he's only 21 and his career progression has been fairly linear so far, I'd be more comfortable with that gamble than a 29yo.
It's all personal opinion, and I'm happy for Chism to have his. I'm not trying to convince him to change his mind, just countering the argument.
Cerra could stay a 23-24 possession player for the next 10 years, he would still be an upgrade on Newnes, Cottrell, SPS and LOB, and the output, IMO, would be more beneficial for the club longterm than 3 years of Parker at 27 touches a game.
As for the 'he isn't that good at the moment', this is his last 7 games, with season average vs last 7 game average. Look at his inside 50s. Nobody on our team averages more than 4.32 (Ed Curnow) and we have the Coleman medalist. He's exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. 25 touches and 6 inside 50s off the wing next year with a fit Harry and Charlie??? Yes please! Assuming his trajectory from his last 7 games carried on to next year of course.

I’d volunteer to do it. Happy to be put in charge of delisting tooWho else does the interviews if Teague and Lloyd were insta-sakced noting that Barker is also already gone?
Sayers himself? "Hi mate, never met before but I'd like to talk about your performance all year"
Really? Stop listening to the media. Sayers is trying to restructure and rebuild a whole footy department, Teague will know his future by now. Just because we don't doesn't mean the clubs doing things wrongly. In fact the continued lack of leaks and not caving to the media ridiculousness is really good to see. Proper process, thinking about every decision.
Any resemblance here to the end of 1994?
Pretty sure I've heard Parko say that he was actually going to be fired because the club offered his position to both Gary Lyon and Brereton. They both refused so Parko was third choice.
If that's how that actually went down it's interesting that one of the leading players this year is also named Lyon.
Don't mean to cause a frenzy, but a couple of the ITKs just logged in.

This is to high…
Parker on a 3yr deal and staying in the first rd of the draft makes more sense.
This is the quietist I can remember this club ever being. Both officially and in terms of leaks. It’s remarkableAnd still nothing from the club
I heard that story at the time from one of my dad's good friends who worked at the club for years. But I think it was Gerard Healy, not Gary Lyon.
Lyon was still at the peak of his career, kicked ten in a final that year.
What did Cripps say this morning?Teague conducting exit interviews is interesting, as are Cripps' comments this morning

Looks like I may have got the names wrong but if you google Carlton coach 1994 or something like that you will eventually discover that Parkin himself thought he was gone after straight set losses in '94 and this is when he came up with the plan to empower playing groups.
I thought I remember in an interview sometime he mentioned the job was offered to two alternates but they didn't want it. I thought those two were Lyon and Brereton but, as someone pointed out, they were still playing at the time so probably wasn't them. Although I think Brereton finished in '96 so we could have been trying for an early retirement.
Might be totally wrong on all this but is just a memory that I have for some reason.
This is a 1 in a 1000 but...
Teague has to still do the exit interviews
Media have been parked outside Ikon park for a week like hyenas around a carcass
Media painting Teague like the first coach ever to be terminated
Gets nasty yesterday with Pickers and Cripps
ITKs were saying Teague would be sacked today
Is it possible that the Clarkson manager statement just dialled down the frenzy a bit so that Teague can complete his interviews and that Clarkson can re-appear in a week after Teague officially sacked?
Pretty easy press conference..."The wife and I wanted to travel but that's unlikely next year. I've reconsidered my plans. I'm actually a little nervous about taking a year off and getting rusty. A position exits at the CFC and I've been offered the position. I have accepted it"
No
