Correct Ross Doesn’t want the Collingwood job, Ross only wants Carlton, enough to beg for it on national TV where he would look silly if he didn’t get it. That’s a desire that’s good to see, you know he will bounce through the doors and crack in.

Ignore the narrative Clarko was scared off, he has said no to Carlton & Collingwood, plus a non-coaching role at GC. I guarantee you ever media outlet has contact him too, even to get him for this years final, yet nothing announced so he hasn’t been too excited about them either to jump at them. Only thing that seems to excited him is $900,000 to do nothing & who could blame him? 20 years of a high pressure job that most of us would crack in within weeks.

If Carlton manage to beg him to come, then it will always be in the back of his head saying “I didn’t really want to do this”

Yeah that makes total sense. As I said we don't have to pick Clarko, I Just like the idea of Clarko back flipping and putting up his hand.
Means he likes what he sees at the blues.

O’Brien is listed at 92kg on the AFL app.
One of my best mates is a Hawks member, and TOB’s nickname among the fans is “Almost” because he just cannot seem to put it together over a game/season.

"Frying-pan hands", "concrete hands" from my Hawks mates.

Find it interesting Luke Sayers’ comments about Buckley complimentary his “terrific, experienced coach ... speak to him a fair bit, terrific coach” and when he spoke about Ross he just said they have chatted for 45 minutes and Ross is looking forward to throwing his hat into the ring ... I feel like Sayers’ preference is Buckley if he was interested

Guy is ruthless … reminds me of an old boss of mine who was intense as ****… walked into the room and you knew he was there and it was time for business. Took no prisoners and the organisation was high performing. If you couldn’t handle it and handle him **** off. He was the Managing Director and he set the rules, standards and the pace. Was shit scared of him but had and still have so much respect for him and the way he went about it.

You can tell Luke Sayers has this trait just by the way he talks.
I’m getting right behind him as he knows that the tail has been wagging the dog for too long and it’s time everyone in house knew you’re answerable to him and by virtue to us the members.

People say “but he’s been on the board for 10 years” … board member and president are completely different things. Don’t forget he was CEO of PWC for most of this time and that would be an intense gig .. he would have been coming to the board meetings putting his two cents in and then going back to his main gig. He has more time now and is the face of the club now so he’ll set the agenda and the pace.

The riot act is music to my ears

Being on the rookie list, does not mean you’re on $80,000 plus match payments, that is the minimum you are paid, Eddie Betts was on around $400,000 this year, with the club not having to include the first $80,000 in the cap.

I highly doubt Kennedy was on anything close to $80,000
Zeggie, I’m not sure if you’re deliberately not listening, rookies can be paid whatever they negotiate, just because a new rookie makes $80,000 plus match payments, does not mean players dropped to the rookie list do.

If I’m guessing, I’d say Kennedy would be on more than double that.

Like I said, I really doubt it. All good, everyone has their own opinion. 41 games in 4 years....I reckon we low balled him for the rookie spot, especially when no one else came calling.

The match payments are the incentives for him to play well.

Not sure why, but I see Jones as having really good longevity, as he gets older, he can play tighter and have quite a few more years left IMO.

Number of items here

I have read this countless times over the years, regarding players across the league, but the end comes quickly for players once the get beyond 30.

In the modern game, moreso for KPD's and right now, only 2 are over the age of 30, Tarrant and Henderson.

We also have the thinnest spine in the league, so adding someone like Riccardi (forget the player), still doesn't get us to an adequate number of spine players

Lastly, you don't trade or draft when you need one, you start the transition period 2-4 years before players start declining
