Not sure if it's been posted (mods please delete if it has) but Paul Barbazza on Twitter hinted there may be more changes coming
As did about half a million people in here after listening to Sayers yesterday.
It was obvious that there is more to come. I couldn't understand why people kept going on about Lloyd and Liddle not getting sacked.

I'd heard you had your hat in the ring........

You need to get your hearing checked out I think, I'm not that crazy. I've made it this far without the Carlton Football Club killing me off, pretty sure that would be the end of me...

O’Brien is listed at 92kg on the AFL app.
Didn’t think he was that slight.
One of my best mates is a Hawks member, and TOB’s nickname among the fans is “Almost” because he just cannot seem to put it together over a game/season.
I do think he’d be a very good option as a KPD - has an awesome leap and is quite agile for a big.
Could see WB pouncing on him, or maybe Collingwood?

Ok, Just would not have considered it.

I guess I’ve only seen O’Brien play half a dozen times on the teev.

They did an indepedent review with the finding that Collingwood has issues regarding systemic racism. Whether Lumumba was right to point the finger at Buckley, he was put through a workplace culture that looked down on him, diminished him.

Having personally seen how Buckley will operate the second he gets permission, both on the field (as a spectator) and off the field, I don't doubt the claims. What I want to know is what he's learned from that if we're going to employ him.

Extremely cold on both he and Ross at the moment. Ross playing the victim card on Wednesday when the Fremantle Football Club had to issue an apology on his behalf is a bit much.

IMHO there is no such thing as an “Independent Review”.

I treat the outcomes of any such review (regardless of the topic) with a very large grain of salt also.

Vic Gov COVID-19 review (and possibly Teague’s review) being a gold standard recent example.

Just because a review calls itself “independent” doesn’t mean that it is.

The only issue there is, you have 1 guy who “may come around” another that is publicly about wanting it and is excited about the prospects.

I’d take the one that you know really wants it, over one that is flip flopping in his desire to do it

Agree that whoever takes the job needs to want it 100%.

But Ross doesn't want the Collingwood gig because of the crap going on there.

Everyone ITK including media thought Clarkson was keen on the Carlton gig, Then Caro said he was scared off because of how badly the club has handled everything. He may have felt about Carlton how Ross felt about Collingwood. Two badly run clubs.

What if we get everything in order over the next few weeks and Clarko realises things aren't as bad as they seemed.
I mean from all accounts Teague is the one who wanted to wait till the end of the year before finding out his future.
The club followed a process and although it wasn't perfect it was the media writing crap about it and the club.

Also, the season finished and Clarkson had to make a decision fairly quickly (just a few days).
What if over the next few weeks he realises he wants to coach and the hunger is still there?
That the club didn't handle everything as badly as was reported and was just following a process.

I'm not saying we should take Clarkson but having the option to would be nice.

80k plus 4k

I highly doubt we're paying him above minimum chips considering we delisted and no one else showed interest.

Being on the rookie list, does not mean you’re on $80,000 plus match payments, that is the minimum you are paid, Eddie Betts was on around $400,000 this year, with the club not having to include the first $80,000 in the cap.

I highly doubt Kennedy was on anything close to $80,000

It's not clear at all, and the allegation came ~2 years later. None of us know what happened.

To put things in perspective, I've seen both sides of the argument happen at a former workplaces. Clear sexual harassment that was swept under the carpet and hidden, and false allegations that stemmed from nothing and ruined someone's career.
She was all-but named at the time, and the incident was detailed sufficiently. The impression was given that she was blackballed in WA football.

I read that as replacing SOS with Thornton
That works too.

Correct Ross Doesn’t want the Collingwood job, Ross only wants Carlton, enough to beg for it on national TV where he would look silly if he didn’t get it. That’s a desire that’s good to see, you know he will bounce through the doors and crack in.

Ignore the narrative Clarko was scared off, he has said no to Carlton & Collingwood, plus a non-coaching role at GC. I guarantee you ever media outlet has contact him too, even to get him for this years final, yet nothing announced so he hasn’t been too excited about them either to jump at them. Only thing that seems to excited him is $900,000 to do nothing & who could blame him? 20 years of a high pressure job that most of us would crack in within weeks.

If Carlton manage to beg him to come, then it will always be in the back of his head saying “I didn’t really want to do this”

It's 80k in 2021 and 85k in 2022.

We aren't paying Kennedy above this lol. Very unlikely.

Zeggie, I’m not sure if you’re deliberately not listening, rookies can be paid whatever they negotiate, just because a new rookie makes $80,000 plus match payments, does not mean players dropped to the rookie list do.

If I’m guessing, I’d say Kennedy would be on more than double that.

And there was the bonus option last off-season where the players could be transferred from the senior list + outside the cap hence E.Betts was placed as a rookie.

Clarko won’t change his mind. We were close to a deal and the AFL intervened making it impossible for us to pay him within our soft cap.

He will be at Gold Coast or GWS in 2023 most likely with a hefty part of his salary being paid outside the soft cap and in a marketing allowance.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
The AFL would like Clarko to do for the Suns what Roos did for Melbourne.

Wait is the 400,000 after match day payments? As in a maximum of 400,000 if he played every round and 80k of that 400k is off the salary cap?

No, I have not read the do better report. However my view is that Harry O'Brien played his whole career and never complained. Then after he retired he decided to try and make some easy cash. Some of his allegations were probably true, however he never complained at the time. Which would mean that he was not overly worried about it, one would think.
Eddie McGuire is another story. He shot his mouth off and said the wrong thing a few times. he knew he was treading on thin ice, but I guess he could not really help himself sometimes. The bloke was wonderful for Collingwood and obviously is a very proud and loyal Pies man who served his club very well. Did he deserve what ultimately came his way? Probably most footy followers would say yes. Personally I would say, based on the fact that he was an extraordinarily good president for many year's. He was very harshly done by imo. Yet he holds no anger or resentment that I have seen and he continues to love his club.

I don't want this to seem malicious, but the fact that you're choosing to refer to him as Harry O'Brien, rather than the name he wants to be known as (Heritier Lumumba) tells me that you've still got a lot to learn about this issue.
To say he never complained ignores the fact that he left Collingwood to move to Melbourne, over what at the time was reported as issues with club management - it's not a stretch to see that this was him being fed up with the culture of the club.
