Could be right.

He could also be over thinking or underthinking (zoning out) or even not all that confident in demanding the footy. He's certainly better but our second string mids just do not get enough of the ball.
Yeah I think the fact our second stringers have that same problem of getting the ball that compounds the problem with Paddy. If he was a in a well drilled team, given his strengths, his weaknesses could be more covered, probably even nowhere near as noticeable.

I would be very surprised at this point if Ross Lyon doesn't get the job.

Jay Clark is a pretty reliable journo at any rate, oi don't think he would have run with Buckley pulling out of the race if he didn't genuinely believe it was true.
Forty3 gets good info, gone through his past posts and it’s spot on so his now become my preferred ITK and I think Buckley is still a chance .... plus Bucks and Sayers are a lot closer than people realise so I honestly believe Bucks is Sayers preferred choice

Whether it's Lyon or another experience coach, players are in for an awakening

Doesn't matter about age, reputation or previous form

People melting about selection integrity because of wanting certain players in the side, it will increase 10 fold
Yeah spot on and our players are long overdue for a wake up call, enough mollycoddling, either they deliver more output, better performances namely win games, or play VFL until they are ready to produce the standard we want.
I’m ready for a hard nosed, good mentoring coach to come along and give them a good shove and rude awakening.

It’s inevitable just give Ross the job today. There’s no one else interested

You've mentioned that a few times.

Why do you think no one else is interested?

Clarko said no, Buckley said no, Don Pyke appears to have said no to coaching anywhere, Scott appears to be taking the afl job so who else is there?

A great man once told us not to believe the media…

Yeah super coach in our dreams, David Teague is a great guy , gets on well with boys , but is not perspective or shrewd match day, far too slow to react.

To be fair, he was still a very young coach, still learning his craft. Unfortunately such is the cut throat nature of the competition and the expectations internally and externally, the club decided to cut ties.

Can't blame him or the club for taking a chance on Teague, that whirlwind period when he took over as Bolton felt like some of the most enjoyable and attractive brand of footy we played since Ratten was coach.

I saw a video with Ross and Reiwoldt the other day where Reiwoldt talked about the way Ross always encouraged the St Kilda players to get the ball in the hands of the good kicks. We don't do that at all and often end up with our poorer kicks being the ones to deliver inside 50m. Would love to see how Obrien would go in a system where he was targeted.
Cripps very often does this. Whenever he gets a free he basically stands backwards waiting for Saad/Willams to come past and hands it to them.

Then gets criticised by the coach and his manager for it...

All three are conditional, non contact type, small framed, lightweights, aerobic capacity fair only, far too many of similar mold.
Actually one could Fisher to the group.
Always was a fan of Fish. He has had injuries of late, played a few games towards the end of our season and was underwhelming. Maybe he would be open to returning to W.A.? S.P.S. and Fish for Cerra and Schultz and a pick swap in their favour might get it done.

I dreamt last night that Clarko was staying at my house and conducting interviews with Gethelred and happydude as potential assistant coaches.

He caught me eavesdropping and went absolutely ballistic at me.

It's definitely a sign!!!

That I spend too much time on BF...
I thought there was an annoying fly on the wall!

Time will tell I suppose, I rate Buckley and his match day IQ very highly, unfortunately the controversial surrounding Adam Treloar and his departure from Collingwood has diminished his standing somewhat in my eyes, but if the board somehow convince him to sign on, I will naturally get behind and support Buckley as coach.

Funnily enough, if The Dogs lose to Essendon, I could possibly imagine Luke Beveridge becoming available, he would be a very appealling coach for us imo

If you were confused by Teague’s team selections, just wait for Bevo ...

Agree with this - Forty3 is right up there as the ITK I trust the most. Not saying others are unreliable, but Forty3’s strike rate is impressive.

Who knows what surprises lie in store if we (when Lyon takes control) look at our list and identify those who will never fit the bill. Personally, I expect this to be a very active trading period. We can't stand still, that's for certain.

Sayers is proving already just how much he is an improvement over MLG.

The media's collective take on all this is actually hilarious.

For the last two seasons Teague has demonstrated absolutely zero insight into how to best manage both a list and a gameplan.

It started last season in the hub when he played virtually the same team every single week, with games being squeezed in to fit the compressed schedule, until he ran that squad into the ground and we surrendered the season.

He also appeared to flat out refuse to set any standards at match committee throughout 2021, retaining underperforming senior players for weeks beyond what was fair or justified.

Throw in the overriding theme of his coaching tenure being a general lack of respect for defensive footy in any shape or form (which is staggering but he even articulated this before the Bulldogs match - "we'll just out-score them"), and you have somebody who just simply isn't up to it.

We have too many talented players to put up with this garbage and he had to be moved on, simple as that. The media can continue having a cry about it if they want but Carlton should be satisfied with their decision, even if it was a little messy in arriving at it.
I’d love it if Lyon becomes coach and at press conferences ignores all those ****wit journalists, and only answers questions from some new journo from an obscure media outlet like the Brunswick Leader..😀

How good was Micky Malthouses first presser for us! A masterclass in getting the media on side.

I reckon Riley has been leaked rubbish. Surely we aren't making major list management decisions without a senior coach on board. There is plenty of time before the trade period and we are not making decisions on 22/23 year old top 10 picks without input from the new coach.

Unless Diesel is making some strong calls early.
