Similarly 1980 is start of a new decade and is first year of a new decade happening, The second year of that decade was 1981 and so on until 1989 is 10th year of a decade and last of the 1980's... Just as 1999 is 10th year of the 1990's.
Year 2000 is start of a new century and a new decade. This is not that hard to get.

He did well at Adelaide, taking over after the Phil Walsh tragedy and then leading them to a GF pretty quickly.

OK, the Collective Minds camp was a complete disaster. But I think vetting and due diligence (or lack thereof) would have been more the purvey of admin (Brett Burton and Andrew Fagan)? He left because of the fallout from the camp / bad decisions. Not because he couldn't coach.

Been at Sydney this year, who had a great season (vs expectations).

He deserve a 2nd chance?

Has apparently done well for himself outside the footy work and is enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle in Sydney according to…someone! Wife is happier too. Happy wife, happy life. Perhaps why I’m miserable.

If what I am reading on here is true then I am finding that there is a lot to like about Sayers. Going after top people, being vocal and putting people back in their boxes where they belong. No one has really driven standards at Carlton for a while, we have just filled roles with whoever and shone all attention on the head coach.

There was never a year 0 so the first decade ended at the end of year 10 and each subsequent decade also ends in a zero. Therefore the year 2000 finished the decade started in 1991.

Who's to say the first decade wasn't just 9 years in length to align logically with the decade digit and 10 year increments thereafter? Why is one of the top 80s songs - Call Me by Blondie - released Feb 1980 not considered a 70s song then?
