I'm a bit more interested in the quote that Williams and Sayers aren't on the same page (already).

Are we going to go through another season without a Director of Football? :D
It’s just that particular posters take on the situation, that is it is not a fact and I’d imagine it’s an incorrect take on the situation.

The dream is clarko but I’d be looking at Yze.
I'm curious on the love for Yze. Where does it come from? What's the evidence that he's the next big thing? Not denying it, just wonder how the reputation comes about. I don't know much about him other than the fact that a lot of people pump him up.
Pretty sure Teague was very well regarded in the coaching fraternity prior to his HC gig with us and is reportedly in the sights of a few clubs to jump straight back into an assistants role if he wants to.

Exactly. Ignore the humble bragging & condescension. IBM is on squillions of preferred supplier lists. There is no way they respond to every half baked RFP that customers put out. They calculate the cost of response, potential profits & likelihood of success before responding.

There is also a lot of work done & money spent on consulting and professional services outside RFP or tender mechanisms. There is definitely work to become a preferred supplier if that's the way a company or Gov department rolls but there are also ways to onboard suppliers for specific bits of work if required.

The other thing I've learnt over the years is that some of these lucrative jobs with the Big Four banks or government departments can be 'fools gold'. The level of governance, penalties etc on them means we are often better picking up the low hanging fruit - less stress and make the same profit in the end (although don't have the prestigious name to put on the website).

why is the opinion of someone who is part of a bigger movement, described as a personal agenda? you don't read my posts on carlton, the club, the games, performances, history, wins, highs, lows, disappointments, euphoria? I also have an interest in equal rights, human rights, women's rights and other progressive movements as do a lot of others around the place - but now I'm told I have an agenda?
I would have thought that you of all people would have had an interest in animal rights given your history. The lack of concern around animal right means you clearly have an agenda

Not sure if this counts as a #blumour or not as it’s first hand info, but according to one of our players:

Lyon became disenchanted when he was told by Greg Williams on Tuesday that he needed to be involved in the process.

Hence Lyon calling Sayers the same day to clarify “the process” as he was under the impression that he had been head hunted by the President (who wanted to give him the job) and therefore didn’t need any form of process.

Im not sure if “the process” means he was up against other applicants or if it just meant he needed to present to the panel; but either way, Williams and Sayers aren’t on the same page (already!).
Sounds plausible.
Not 100% on the Williams/Sayers disconnect though, or even that they NEED to be on the same page for things to work.
Could easily have been a discussion early that Clarko is target #1 and Lyon is target #2. If either of those say yes, we just go with it. There could easily have been a backflip from the board since then, for any number of reasons (all valid), with Sayers being on board with the change in direction, but Lyon not.

Lipinski is a handy player, averaged 22 touches from 14 games in 2019 when given a bit more midfield opportunity.

Dunno, I feel he would improve our list but probably not worth a heap in terms of a trade. Upgrade on Fogarty (who incidentally would also look a much better player if given more midfield time).

I agree, however I do think that we have enough guys on our list looking for opportunities in the midfield. Add Cerra and Hewett to that and we have a very strong midfield. Not sure where Lipinski would fit in given that scenario.

Positive Friday vibes(that probably means nothing) - Clarkson into $3 fav to be next coach on Sportsbet

Interesting. Did they get wind of something?

Or they are just pretending to know something to get suckers to throw their money away.

I agree that people shouldn't be cancelled for ever. But your post seemed to suggest that this issue should never even come up as far as a search for a new coach is concerned, that's the part I disagree with. If the club wants to take the Respects program seriously, then its a relevant issue. One that I personally think could be overcome but not one that should be ignored either. If Ross is uncomfortable addressing what he did in order to resurrect his career, then that's a choice he has made and its on him. Getting a second chance doesn't mean society just sticks our head in the sand and pretend it never happened.
Yeah respects program or not. If he's been abusive to anyone in the past, with so much on the line a please explain is a given

I admit I want him purely for his name.
If he can actually play that will be a bonus.
Somehow that name makes me think of Fred Twinkle Toes Flinstone.
