Kane Cornes writing in our defence AND making some sense while he's at it.

Holy crap, I think I see some horsemen on the horizon.

I can't say for sure how many there are, but it's definitely more than three and less than five... ;)

please explain???

Situation doesn’t look good, but I’m not sure what the alternative could be. The mistake was made 3 years ago with the appointment of Teague. Moving him on now was the right move. We couldn’t waste more time with somebody who has clearly not shown an ability to be a senior coach.
It’s just unfortunate that we are 12 months too soon to get an experienced coach. This time next year could be amazing.
The board have done a lot wrong no doubt, but sacking Teague and starting a process for a new coach is not one of them

I have lost all faith in Sayers to deliver anything , this is absolutely shambolic. How the hell did he get to the top of PwC? What the hell is going on down there. Walk up to Lyons door and give him the bloody job and don't leave till he signs on. There were no other options so why the hell did we ask him to go through a process?

The Club really needs to give-up on Clarko now. It was already starting to lose some of its appeal - the feeling of desperation to get him. It's not a good look for the Club and I don't think it sends a good message to the players. My feeling is we put all our eggs in that basket and it didn't pay off. We need to act like we're still in control...

Next we’ll be offering to let him take the time of to do a book tour.

In the end we just should have let Teague see out his contract. One more year, proper people around him, and then if he still struggled then we had a fit, fresh Clarko ready to go without the shambles we have now. Be alot easier to attract other suitors if Clarko still rejected us. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

He's said no. Twice. He's being paid 900k to take a year off and do whatever the hell he likes, after 17 years at Hawthorn. He'd be crazy not to take the opportunity. No doubt his wife is of the same opinion.

I think the Hawks are paying out over two years.

Which is smart, as if Clarko gets a job in 2023, they're only out of pocket $450K.

If that's the case, then the 'getting paid $900K to sit on my arse for a year' incentive isn't quite as strong.

I wasn't expecting the Spanish inquisition.

Just trying for a bit of levity . God knows we NEED IT.
You are good at that. :laughv1::D:thumbsu:

Could you imagine what that would have been like? Demoralised players, unbelievable media pressure, member angst..
There are no good solutions. Just a range of crap ones. Hopefully in time we chose the least crap

Anyone that genuinely thinks Clarko just casually walked into Ikon…well I have a bridge to sell you.

I’m not saying I don’t believe there’s interest there, there’s just no way known it’s taking place like that.
How much is the bridge?

I went early with my Ross Lyon preference. But that was before the unexplained ****ing around.

Now we simply have to run a process. As quickly as possible. And then appoint Adam Kingsley.
