Clarkson should be ca
Clarkson hasn't said no twice...he's just continued with the line he's been towing since leaving Hawthorn. This story is no update. As if he'd say anything to Warner or any other media and change his story at this point.

I'd still be fairly confident that if Cook came on board, he'd be a chance. My view is that exactly zero has changed the past week or so.
The delusion is strong in this one.

Brad Scott ain’t coming. Less stress, more influence at the AFL.
Clarkson, great record but frankly he probs needs some time away.
Lyon, stand out candidate from a distance, but apparently out.
Buckley, see Clarkson but with a lesser record. (And probably better in the media).
Pyle, ? Maybe, we’ll see.

Experienced assistants... starting to look like this the way to go.

Why not Chocco?

I'm hopefully when the club parks the delusion of Clarkson they sit down with Ross and see if there is a future. Who cares how it looks,if you want an experience coach he is the best available.

If not they better get the process moving and drop the experience tag.

Agreed. **** the optics.

Under no circumstances should we appoint Voss, he is actually the worst of all supposed remaining candidates.

Aside from The fact I think he is a bad coach, he also doesn't come across as a real pleasant bloke, lin my opinion, least not one that should be trusted coaching pur young lads (still remember that incident back in his playing days when he went out with Steven Lawrence and Fraser Gerhig on a pub crawl and threw a billiard ball at someone)

We can and must do better than Voss surely ?

Remove everything from that post, except the bit where you said, he’s a bad coach, because the rest is trivial garbage, he’s not pleasant? Seriously? He went on a pub crawl 20 odd years ago and got in a fight, who cares, none of that is relevant at all.

You talk of trust Elmer, he was the captain and leader of one of the best AFL sides of the last 50 years.

Have a look at the list of premiership coaches for the last 20-40 years and let me know if you don’t think nearly all of them used to punch on, cheat on their partners, were not pleasant, were aggressive, took drugs, sold drugs, were on field thugs, stole chocolate from the local milk bar.

Let's face it... it is as bad and shambolics as it could get at the moment. If Sayers did promise Lyon or in any way instigated it was his, he must go.

We're either supposed to be trying to fix the place or we're not. We're supoosed to be either doing the proper process or we're not.

It terribly embarrassing and we're a laughing stock

Hold on, you say shambolic like it's a bad thing?

But less seriously, our performances this year were embarrassing. thie is the effort to fix it. Our performances for nigh on 20 years other than 2009-11 are the issue. We're just trying to clear the decks to start again.

Could you imagine what that would have been like? Demoralised players, unbelievable media pressure, member angst..
There are no good solutions. Just a range of crap ones. Hopefully in time we chose the least crap

Players weren't that demoralised. Culture has always been poor anyway. Lazy, half ass, unmotivated players has been an issue for 20 years. Demoralised, well no. With Teague we had the 2nd best winning record this century behind Ratten, and nearly every game was scoreboard competitive. Compare that to Bolton's last 50 games. Teague was the only coach, bar Ratten, where we have remotely spoken finals, and for 2 years straight. Not strong chances but something. Both years fell over late. He was just a victim of a bad culture that has seen 6 coaches sacked for no change. Can't coach bad culture and only the players can sort that.

We chose the utter worst crap. Media pressure comes with the territory. Now there's just alot more media pressure. Media and public laughing stock and an utter shambles. Keep Teague another year would have been better and way easier to get Clarko, who would be refreshed after his year off and ready to go. So much smarter thing to do. Now if we get a coach and he struggles, and with our culture he's likely to have issues, we'll get kicked all over the place not waiting a year for Clarko. No sacking a coach next year to get Clarko. Of course the new coach might do ok but still remains to be seen. That's if we can attract one. Likely many will be scared off by the utter farce we are.

There's no great solutions but going one more year with Teague would have been the best.

Pretty sure he hates Carlton and wouldnt have anything to do with us.

I would absolutely try for Chocco in some role. Carlton need a big personality to come in. Our last two coaches have been too soft. It’s a big club with a tonne of noise and factional crap. We need somebody who can drag the club in the right direction in a (somewhat) united way. Kingsley as coach with Chocco as support

Luke Power, as one of the few remaining assistants, might have to do it as we might attract on-one to the job given the shambles we are.......haha.

say that again?? That’s it I’m back on Clarkson:p

The NDA is bit of a red flag when you see how it is used in Hollywood and big business it’s usually a way of protecting the perpetrators reputation
I looked into why the procedure is NDA's when this speculation began. Essentially, Kate Jenkins did a formal investigation on behalf of the AFL into the current situation around sexual harrassment, and found two immediate issues: women with complaints didn't know whether they should be complaining to the AFL or to their clubs, and that lack of transparency meant that things went unreported; that women were afraid that reporting things would result in backlash from clubs, individuals and the industry.

The procedure was refined from her investigation, to create a transparent line of reporting via procedure - to the AFL - and to have NDA's as a matter of course.

She has objected publically when people referred to the AFL's policy of using NDA's after the change as "hush money":

I say this just to note the fact that while the NDA could certainly indicate a culture of hushing things up, NDA's also serve the purposes of victims in protecting their privacy and keeping the story out of the press.

Uh. No. Not by a long way.

So this crap is better? You serious? If you wanted Clarko another year would not have hurt and we would have looked alot less of a basket case when trying to attract him. One year! And you think no? Geez!

Teague was our 2nd best coach, win/loss this century despite the rotten, lazy culture he had to put up with. 6 coaches have changed nothing and Teague was actually one of the best of them. Not the coaches, as we are finding, and if those issues aren't addressed we are talking another sacking in 2 years.

Time to give Paul Roos an SOS call?
