I think you are conflating 'opinions' from journos and ex-AFL players on TV with overreactions on here (and probably the main board) and turning them into 'facts'.

All we know is we are running a process for the coaching process and that Ross Lyon does not wish to partake.

He has a winning percentage above 70% I believe, coached a premiership, coached the cats to another grand final last year, consistently gets the cats into the top 4 and comes from a winning culture. Yes he has some smugness and prick about him but I think that’s what we need, he stands up for his players and his club, his an elite coach who would be a great get for this club

Pretty sure they have to pay him $900k next year. They are allowed to spread it out over 2 years for their salary cap though.

Clarkson, great record but frankly he probs needs some time away.
Lyon, stand out candidate from a distance, but apparently out.
Buckley, see Clarkson but with a lesser record. (And probably better in the media).
Pyle, ? Maybe, we’ll see.

I'm hopefully when the club parks the delusion of Clarkson, they sit down with Ross and see if there is a future. Who cares how it looks,if you want an experience coach he is the best available.

If not they better get the process moving and drop the experience tag.
