I would personally, gives us two very good picks in a hugely comprised draft where players (Vic and NSW specifically) who go in the 10-20 range could well have become top 10 ten picks as the season progressed. Off the top of my head players like Bont, Oliver, Jackson and Curnow all had big 2nd halves to their draft years and shot up the draft leaderboards to become top 12 picks and given our list profile now is the time to pull the trigger and take the risk. Good call

Will be interesting to follow. If Samo can't break into the Eagles best 22, due to reported poor preparation. We might be celebrating the deal if Lewis takes over from Jonesy....but on the other hand if Samo finishes top 5 in their B & F.

I personally think this was a steal of a deal. Think how many have paid 2 firsts (pies/trealor) (*/shiel) (im sure theres more haha). But I'd have Cerra over both these right now in heartbeat.

Carlton pays Pick 8 & chump change for a Pick 4 after 4 years of development who finished in Freos top 5 B&F two years running doesn't quite sound so horrifying does it ?

I’m surprised how many people are off Zac Williams and calling his recruitment a failure after 1 year. Understand he’s on a big contract & didn’t appear to be in great shape, so deserves some criticism. But his season he went:

Missed - played 2 games - missed - 2 games - missed - 5 games - bye - 2 games - missed - 3 games - season over.

Playing in a new position, in a struggling side with very poor systems.

If he’s not super fit this year I’ll be filthy but he’s a very good player and I’m looking forward to seeing his impact in 2022.

Not unusual for someone without any previous coaching experience to not be offered a coaching role.

We have too often gone down the path of unsuitable candidates or jobs for the boys to fill important positions.
