Well if it's reaching a point where some players are openly defying and arguing with other players, that really is becoming a massive problem that should concern the whole club, not just Voss and the coaching staff.

I feel like it's better for the club and its culture for the board to be firm and state categorically that Voss will be here next year no matter what (to the unhappy players) and have to swallow their pride and put aside their differences with the coach and other teammates.

But if the board panics and sacks Voss, they should also sack the disgruntled and unhappy players, the club and our culture need a fresh start and no more baggage or players who are causing disharmony in the locker room
What if Voss is fostering this divided culture, unintentionally I'm sure. Then is it better to back him in no matter what? This is where I divide from those who say you need stability and we have to back Voss in because sacking coaches all the time doesn't work.

On the surface yes they all sound like nice ideas and the basis of a stable club. However, what if the coach just isn't good enough? What if something about the way he's managing the group is leading to these cultural divides? What if the playing group is good enough but their coach just can't get the best out of them and is playing favourites causing issues amongst players?

Then is it still a good idea to throw a blanket over it and say "we're backing in Voss because we want stability"? What if Voss IS the instability?

Just so we're clear, I'm not making the case he is or isn't, I'm arguing against the catch all statement suggesting we must back Voss in because we've sacked a few coaches lately and that's not what stability is.

I want us to make the best decision either way, whether it's to sack Voss or not I don't particularly care. If it is sacking Voss then so be it. Sad we picked another coach that set us back a few years but no point sulking. If it is keeping Voss then overhaul the disruptive list and get a group of strong assistant coaches to lead a gameplan overhaul (if that's what's required).

Just do the right bloody thing this time, which ever direction that is. I'm sick of Carlton doing the wrong thing.

You can just tell that he is full of s**t. 😂

How would he possibly there are Carlton players that don’t want to play with one another? Unless he is talking to family members or asking the players directly. And I almost fell off my chair that he apparently spoke to opposition clubs and they don’t think much of our game plan. We have heard as much from Sidebottom but “clubs”? Surely he isn’t going around to other clubs and asking them about our club? 😂

We are a mess right now but what McClure said actually sounds made up. “I am not telling you who.”. 😂
Cripps retorted falsehoods just last week… club eeriely quiet… they’d be trying to figure out who said what unless purposefully leaked. Of course he’s not telling you who told him.. make that person’s position untenable… and unethical by the reporter.

Inmates running the asylum...

These players just refuse to take accountability for their mediocrity...

Supposedly having a sook about supporters, having a sook about the coach (3rd coach for most of them) having a sook about each other...

What a pack of losers whoever those players are. Voss' game plan is obviously garbage. His selection and positional moves very questionable... but can't blame him for missing a 5m handball or 20m kick as often as they do... the lack of tackling... and just overall footy brains is mind boggling... as bad as his game plan may be... they haven't even given it a chance...

Of course, brain dead board will be salivating at getting Dimma in to replace him right about now...

Keep the players that want to make it work. Get rid of the sooks. Get some proper help in for Voss. If he can't turn things by the time his contract is up, thank him for his services and then bring in a new coach.

I must have missed this, who was sooking about supporters ?

Not a leader of men.

Are you serious???

How come he could coach us to our most wins for 10 seasons last year but now he can't coach.

Harry Mckay miskicking on the wing and turning it over is not fault of Michael Voss.

LOB letting his man run unopposed at a stoppage in their goal square is not the fault of Michael Voss.

Time for the players to stand up and stop blaming everyone else.

I said it the other day, some players in this team look like they'll seeing off their third coach and some more look like seeing off their second coach. Yet we still havent seen finals since the 2015 rebuild commenced. When will people start to realize the problem might just be the actual players?

Like Richmond did with Hardwick... After years of improvement and showing he could and did develop a finals game plan and list - where has Voss shown improvement across the last 20 games? Have we got a finals.capable game.plan like Richmond had proven to have?

Id suggest first you need a finals capable playing list. We dont have one.

If you believe Sam McClure (I am nor sure if I totally do, although he does have a fairly good track record with Intel about about our club) that seems likely.

I personally would prefer to back in Voss for at least another year and get rid the trouble making players (who reportedly) are unhappy with Voss and his game plan and clashing with the boys who are still backing the coach in.

It's arguable players have had too much power/influence over coaching decisions at this club for too long.

Mind you if we only win say 2 or 3 more games (or less) for the rest for the season, Voss's tenure does become untenable, but I woudl still also get rid of the players who reportedly are rebelling against Voss (according to Sam on FC last night)

Who is to say that wouldn't do that to the next coach either ?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

This 100%. Double down on Voss, extend his contract another year and ditch the players not on board with coach. Whatever their names are. Period.

Interestingly enough.

Yesterday I was told as many as 15 players would request trades, be traded on ect.

Now we can't lose them all but does speak to the disunity somewhat.

Some big offers on the table for some players hopefully they are still there come seasons end

Which ones?

Not that I condone violence but it’s remarkable to me that a few of these stooge journalists haven’t been belted when they straight out lie.

One avenue Id explore is the obvious

How long did it take Richmond and hardwick to get a finals capable game plan in place? How many years until they made finals.

Remember that group that came out and wanted to sack Hardwick and overthrow the board. How did that work out for them?
That group didn't ask to sack Hardwick some unruly board push did. Big woop.

They showed marketable improvement every season improving win counts until that one anomoly too. Gradual obvious improvement.

Ed, JSOS, LOB, Fisher, McGovern, Cottrell, Sam Durdin, Cunners, Marchbank, Martin, Fogarty, Honey, Owies, Philp, Plowman. That is your 15 players and they can all be moved on. It is actually scary how easy it was to name 15 players I would move on.

I'd definitely keep Jack Martin, Id keep Cuningham if he can finish the season without missing another game for injury. I'd keep Cottrell.

Jack Martin needs a block of games definitely, otherwise he is living off his 1st half debut against Richmond. After that, he hasn’t done anything of note. Cunners is something I had lots of belief in but he is injured all the time and that’s a shame. Cottrell tries his heart out but when I see him, I see a Gibbons/Honey type in midfield. A pretty limited player who’s level is VFL. Nothing wrong with that at all tbf but he is easily upgradable.
