Like BB above, I didn't see your post, but if you're claiming that today's announcement somehow validates your earlier posted rumour...

Your claim here was that H was signed 3 weeks ago, and that the press had been briefed. Why are you surprised that some here may have called that out over the past 3 weeks? And how does today's announcement change that? How did that briefing go down - "Hey guys, big announcement for you today, H has signed for 7 extra. But can you hang on reporting that for a few weeks?"

I'm fine if you got mail that H had signed back then, perhaps he did. But there's no way the media was briefed. Sorry if you feel this is "bullying", it's not intended to be (and I don't believe I was one of the earlier posters). But if you're going to post in an online forum, you need to understand that (1) not everyone will agree with you all the time; and, (2) if you make an erroneous claim, expect to be called out on it (hopefully politely).

Anyway, hope you're as thrilled as the rest of us that he's signed up. Great day for the club.

Clearly state Carlton Media and absolutely thrilled as we all should be.

Legacy of an amazing CEO.
Something to look forward to with us.

Sell the ethos, have a standard for all players to understand. Everyone buys in, signs fair contracts and craves success above all else.

Tom Hawkins and Joel Selwood are fantastic examples on this. Hawkins could earn more as an Uber eats driver next year than he will from the cats.

Guess he and Emma won't be able to afford to learn the piano just yet... Lucky he bought a white grand piano for the farm when he had a positive cash flow

Thought Setters showed enough to earn at least another year, even more so now with Paddy on the trade table..plus our run of injuries. He's shown glimpses of how good hie best footy is, and was playing well towards the end of the year. Hope he stays but it looks unlikely to happen

As a former pick 5 (academy) he would have come across on a big wedge and now as 6thish choice CM he's going to probably be offered half what he was and on 1 year rolling deals too.

Understand why he'd want to investigate his options but I hope he sucks it up and shows his value in navy blue.

Wonder if that update from Austin indicates that we've had reasonable interest for Dow. If there wasn't a potential buyer or two lined up I don't think there'd be any need for the comment.

He was asked directly by a Journo. Austin was pretty black and white about it, as is Dow's situation, the mid mix has changed dramatically in the last year and opportunity has dried up.

I think the club is doing the right thing by Dow (given he's contracted) by agreeing to him exploring options and Dow should absolutely take the opportunity.

Same with Setters, while I'd like to keep him why would he want to play the majority of the season in the VFL.

Think both players can offer the right fit club enough to play seniors.

With H locked away for the next 7 years it’s time to hit up the North boards with ridiculous hypothetical trades for Ben grossly undervaluing him to join his brother at Carlton…the poor North fans are on their knees at the moment…I reckon we could break a few of their posters!!!

You don’t think they are broken enough? Their Number 1 trade target for next year is gone in a flash, their Number 1 selection from last year is on his way out the exit door for less than they could have received in a trade 12 months ago and their saviour Clarko, well, it turns out he is a bigger campaigner (allegedly) than even we thought he was capable of being.

Because he doesn't have the tank to play more minutes without suffering defensive running
I think you are right Arrow. Do you think he could ever improve this area of his game. Or is it just a weakness that he’ll never overcome?

Thomas may pull the exit trigger as well given the issues raised by the recent reporting he may be less enthused about working with Clarko now

What type of players are they?

Allan 194cm wingman. Professional, disciplined, 2 way runner, strong overhead, can win his own footy, with above average footskills

Cowan 188cm, more HB than Wing. Quicker, takes the game on, long kick but inconsistent at times

Young exceeded all expectations from when we acquired him and his form when Weitering was out was outstanding.
He is a long term key defender with us, hard to comprehend some of the negativity on here, it is certainly not justified on his season.

Yep.

23 year old KPD doesn’t make All Australian = delist ;););)

Cheers.

Agree with you based on need, two way running 194 cm wingman with above average foot skills would be an awesome get (potentially)

Sign me up.

My interpretation of his post was that Harry was doing some media work for the Carlton Media department (not external Media) ie. doing some sort of interview/photoshoot/video stuff.

And have you seen the media ... it would have taken at least 3 weeks!!! Casting would have been a nightmare to find 7 Harry's. Even if Ben stood in for one of them we were still 5 short. 3 weeks is fair under the circumstances.

I would expect the DeKoning signing when it happens will be easy to put the media together. There's hundreds of those blokes!!
