Best time for it.... probably no real difference if it was this year, or next year as his contract ends - but leaving now gives more time for a new coach and new blood to come in, which we are all excited for.

Cheers Bomber, and welcome to the helm for either Sando or Hinkley!

.. Any Chance he might pack up .... leave Victoria. Join his Essendon Team Mate Mark Harvey at Freo as Assistant ???

Live on a Nice Beach Side Suburb . VEG OUT in WA.

Hope he's not lost to footy, one of the really likeable characters in our game.
Well done Bomber on what you've achieved.

It will be interesting to see if Geelong have a go at another flag or attempt a rebuild.

My money is on a complete rebuild. Harley went after last year, Chapman and Ling are on their last legs, and Gazza's gone north. Now the coach is gone.
They need to look at their aging list and trade the ones with a couple of years left, and look to putting in a new team of young players. We've read for the umpteenth time that the champion Magpies are younger than the Baby Bombers, and it will take a newly developed team of young players to reach their level of excellence.

Your are Legend Bomber! Do what you like mate, even coach Essendon if you wish! Two premierships in my lifetime when I thought none would never come. Thank you.

If he really is burnt out and his health is suffering then all the best to him but it's a difficult story to swallow.

I'll always have a lot of respect for what Geelong achieved as a team and Thomas obviously did a great job, but I have very little respect for him.

Seems to be a sore loser who can't handle defeat and is jumping off what he perceives to be a sinking ship.
