don't usually watch Footy Classified, might sneak it on tonight and watch Lloydy snarl at any bad words Caro tries to point towards Hirdy

Lloydy is too tame around her, gives her more respect than she deserves and more than she gives to anyone.

Maybe im being harsh but i actually thought carlise was pretty poor.

- Missed an absolute crucial goal 30m out in the 3rd? quarter
- Was beaten one on one against... McEvoy
- Was pretty much ineffective the entire day except his late goal to get us back in it.
- Was pretty poor at ground level
- Also let breust run past him right at the end but was thankfully saved by the siren

maybe im being harsh.

Yeah, Breust was running from the flank at that last contest and Marty Gleeson was his direct opponent at the time, trailing him by 5m. Had nothing to do with Carlisle. Give Jake a few games to back into the swing of things and we'll see him kicking bags again. I'm expecting 10+ between him and Joe next week.

FC was great last week when it was Lloydy taking about the football - he's a great analyst. He is not, however, a good debater and up against Caro he will mumble something he's written down to argue with her and when she rebuts, even if it is garbage, he just shits pant

13 touches, 8 marks, 2 goals 1 behind (yes he should have kicked it) and 3 tackles for Carlisle who had no pre-season games and missed a chunk with an injury.

And on the back of this game people think Carlisle played poorly/should be banished to the back line.

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that Hodge had a heap of the ball but virtually no impact on the game. Loads of cheap stuff around half back.

WWSD, you might be able to answer this. How many of your side yesterday are left footers?

Obviously missing Gibson and Mitchell you were minus two, but at the ground it still struck me as being a very high proportion. Higher than normal.

You know what is really actually pretty amazing?
The game was officiated so fairly that not one single decision has been scrutinized, which is remarkable for a close game like this. The shock merchants have resorted to trying to find lost seconds, as they have no umpiring errors to cling to.
While I disagree with the holding the ball criteria (although it was applied equally to both teams), I thought the umpires did a great job and officiated it like a final.

Head over to the Hawks autopsy thread for a dissenting opinion...

Haha yeah we do tend to favour the left footers
Nearly all of them are absolute pin point precision types too.

That pass from Suckling to Roughead at the end- yeowza. There was almost blood in the air from how sharp and cutting it was flying through the air.

You're being very harsh. The down the ground replay shows Breust running hard from about 30m centre side of the last marking contest, while the ball was in the air, with Glesson chasing him about 3-5 behind the whole way. Gleeson's head goes back in despair as the crumb falls directly to Breust running at pace, just a split second before the siren sounds. I don't think in any way Carlisle had responsibility.
