I agree. However the influence of Indian cricket on the ICC is probably more the question. Reality is India comprises over 40% of total revenue for the ICC.
Smells a lot like "don't bite the hand that feeds you" and is an unfortunate aspect of international cricket.

Let them play cricket with themselves then if they crack the sh1ts. They'll soon get sick of that, especially the Indian public.

Just call their bluff, just once.

lol couldn't have happened to a better person. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I recall correctly a few years ago in a couple of one dayers vs new zealand, hussey had edged the ball and not decided to walk, and then said something along the lines of you take the bad decisions with the good.

I guess he will have to live with this decision.

Also if you want the indians to be accountable and not appeal when the ball isn't edged then the batsmen should be held responsible and should walk when they edge the ball.

Do you remember the last series?
Where the only reason for bad umpiring was apparently racism?

If a certain team didn't overeact so badly in 2008 we wouldn't be so aggravated by the hypocrisy.

I think there were a few things going on in Melbourne at the time which rightfully had a few people on edge (from memory)

If you want to diffuse a situation where people become hostile towards each other, HAVE THE DRS

This is all political BS I can tell you that

You were saying?

Do you remember Bucknor being hounded as a racist after his Symonds decision?

Yes, and it has no relevance to this. The ICC, not the Indians or any one else made it a choice. Honestly I'd probably push not to use it if i had a vested interested in a game, I'd prefer to take my chances with human error.

the blame for this stupidity has to rest on which ever muppet made it a choice.

Bad decisions but we are paying the price really for blokes like Warner, Ponting and Clarke making starts and not going on with it.
If Clark didn't get out when he was set then Hussey wouldn't have followed.

People can go on as much as they want that Australia was just as bad in the field but at the end of the day when a system came in that made officiating fair and decreased the risk of corruption, CA signed up. India didn't.

No. It should be implemented across the board with every test match between every team.

What it is now is like if the AFL brought in a 3rd umpire for goals touched or close to the post and Collingwood demanding that there be no 3rd umpire in their matches.

It's quite farcical. There is no point blaming the Indians for appealing for either of those. They were both VERY close and every team would have appealed. And don't blame the BCCI either. The responsibility lies solely with the spineless nature of the ICC.

All in all it's very disappointing.

I agree with everything you say.... until you say dont blame the BCCI...

It's a massive case of sour grapes because they lost out on one series when they used it. I believe the excuse was they don't believe the technology is advanced enough.

http://www.theroar.com.au/2011/12/22/doubt-riddled-series/

According to Pierik, the Indians remain unconvinced of the accuracy of DRS technology. Nine’s cricket producer Brad McNamara admitted that there was “definitely” a variance in DRS aid technology around the world, but that Australia “put a lot of time, effort and money into making it as accurate as possible” here.

This won’t be the first time India has said no. It declined the use of DRS earlier this year in England, then changed its mind and allowed it – but not in relation to leg-before decisions. You surely can’t have it both ways. Either you think the technology provided by the home nation broadcaster is good enough or it isn’t. And if it is good enough, it should be good enough to cover all possible decisions.

So you use it in England.... but not here? Not even with the no lbw decisions that you said yes to 6 months ago?

But yes... the ICC should stand up and say every test has it, the only catch will be that they will probably have to subsidise the costs to make it work

I am not saying Dhoni is a cheat but he appeals more than a criminal lawyer

So does Haddin and most other wicketkeepers.

Nothing wrong with the Indians appealing, both were worthy shouts that looked out live, but they should be forced to use DRS like everyone else.

Just seems stupid now that a controversial dismissal cant be reviewed when it happens in most other test series.
