You have the right to appeal, umpires decide whether it is out or not. Ridiculous appeals just look idiotic, but should have no influence on whether somebody is out or not.

It's reasons like that is why we don't have eagle eye.

But no hot spot/ replay reviews in inexcusable.

Did you see how hot spot failed 3 times against Dravid in England ?

I am all for reviews but give it to the 3rd umpire and only TV replays are enough to get most decisions correct. No need of dodgy technologies.

I am sure Haddin's appealing for farting might pick up a couple of cheap wickets.

Swings and roundabouts.

Tbf no one seems to take Haddin serious. No one else ever goes up for his stupid not even close appeals, most keepers are the same, just look at prior. People can appeal every ball if they want as long as drs is available, ump then quickly says if u think I'm wrong then challenge. Aussies appeal a ton less now with DRS, I bet India would be the same. Only real terrible appeal today was the one off the foot because even if he did hit it, it then clearly hit the ground.

Now read the next sentence and try again.

Haddin goes up by himself because he is a brain dead idiot.

The Indians all go up together and then look dumbfounded when it doesn't gontheir way.

So none of the Australian's go up with Haddin? Seriously do you watch cricket? Most absurd thing I have ever heard.

Thing about Haddin is he actually thinks everything is out, as shown by how many times he has told the captain to appeal the decision, and it turns out he's wrong. Same with Prior.

Old story , but wasnt that because the 2 teams had a gentleman's agreement to take catches at face value (fielder's word) and there were 2 catches claimed by captain (Ponting at Silly point off of Dhoni) and vice captain (Pup at slips off Ganguly), thereby bringing to naught said gentleman's agreement ?

I suspect it was largely that for Kumble, I don't remember the Ponting catch but IIRC the Clarke catch carried.

The BCCI however in threatening to boycot the tour set a massive standard.

Sounds like Siddle's riding his luck a bit, but he is starting to turn into a pretty handy lower order batsman. Not quite all-rounder status but fast approaching that Brett Lee, Merv Hughes, Paul Reiffel, Jason Gillespie level of "handy".

yeah definately missed it.

that white spot appears randomly once the ball goes past and then goes away. pretty strange that one.

think people are going a bit overboard. was a pretty fair appeal. if i was the bowler i would've been going absolutely berserk. my original thought was it was out.

at last someone with some sense in this tread.

Also, I think the hot spot is dodgy - how can a hot spot like the above appear and disappear? doesn't that make it dodgy. Also how about the hot spot decision that Ponting threw a tantrum in the Boxing Day test last year.

Also, as shown in the NZ series, the Eagle Eye system is a joke. It's a disgrace.

So we have two main components of the DRS - Eagle Eye and Hot Spot being dodgy - can you blame the Indians for not wanting to use it?

Hasn't quite reached the Gillespie level just yet. Although, he wouldn't want to make 200, he'll get dropped.

I'm not talking about close decisions. I'm talking about any of the large number of times Bad appeals for something that isn't even close. Completely by himself.

And yes, I have been lucky enough in the past 18 months to have seen 90%+ of balls bowled in tests involving Australia so yes I do watch cricket smart ass.
