We're going to hear a lot of media slurping Swan scrotums about how they won the game in the 3rd by kicking 5 goals.

What we won't hear about is how it corresponded with Ed Richards going off the ground. Robbing us of momentum and forcing a re-jig of the starting midfield.

The same Ed Richards who at the time was the most damaging player on the ground.

Mixed reaction. Shot ourselves in the foot with repeated misses and stupid errors.

Young brigade dragged us back into it.

Bevo please please please run Garcia and West through the midfield. They are exactly what we need in there. West is the only one in the side who can break a tackle & Garcia is a bull.

Gags was poor in the first half but was superb in the last.

Freijah just has it.

At one stage it was Darcy, Sanders, Garcia, West and Gags at the Centre Bounce. Amazing.

Harmes was great.

Jamarra played like the gun we all know he is.

No Jones, no dogs.

Bevo's coaching well imo. It's taken this long into the season but I can see the direction. I hope we don't lose it.

Didn’t switch off as I tend to talk s*t on occasion, but the umpiring was absolutely terrible both ways, all ****** night.

Credit for even getting close with 3 players out, including 1 within 5 minutes of the match and then 2 of our current best 5 players on form.

But honourable losses mean absolutely heck all. We will get spanked next week which makes tonight even worse.

Lastly, our conversion is absolutely disgraceful and we will need to spend years wondering how much of a powerhouse we could have been if we were clinical for once in our lifetimes.

Why will we get spanked next week?

Also, the inaccuracy needs consequences. Feel like there's just an acceptance of missing shots. If you have 5 shots and kick 0.5 or 1.4 you should be dropped. That'll fix it quickly.

And loved seeing us mix it up in the midfield and make adjustments throughout the game.

Suddenly we have midfield options!

Good point though, Bevo on his game tonight, injuries had a major influence on the outcome.

Also we ran the game out - that GWS bloke we recruited must have pulled the right levers in preparation. 👍

Thought we played really well. Fought well through all the injury carnage and definitely could have got ugly but fought really well.

Missed chances in the first half really hurt. We quite comfortably had the better of play in that first half but only went in with a four point lead. A bit cleaner at each end and we go in with a 3 goal lead and we're a really good chance. They turned it on in the third and built the match winning lead.

A lot of good signs. Loved Garcia's game in particular. Shame we couldn't get it done and hopefully the injury carnage doesn't hurt too much in the coming weeks because at 5-6 we can't afford to drop too many more. Makes me even more disappointed with our earlier losses. Play like we did tonight in those games and we're probably sitting at 7-4 or 8-3.

Can't be embarrassed this week. Great, fighting effort from the boys under pressure from injuries. Hope the fight is there the next few weeks. You never know...

Nail in the coffin was Ed going off under concussion protocol, lost the drive through the midfield. At least they didnt give up in the end

Don't want to be a Debbie downer, but some of our tackle efforts tonight were rubbish.

Thankfully, it’s something that doesn’t need too much work to correct.

Bloody hard loss to cop
considering the injuries and the umps up the Swans arses.

I think the rest of our season has a very different look about it now after the last few weeks including tonight. If we can win enough games to make finals, surely we’re confident we could do damage.

On to the pies!

Loved seeing the fight from the team. Unlucky to not get the win, but what a performance to not let them get the run on in the last.

Was really impressed with the young guns. JUH, Darcy and Garcia were standouts against the best team in the comp. That is awesome. Thought Freijah looked good apart from a few costly mistakes.

Would like to see us go away from Bramble and Daniel to pump some games into younger players. Our list could really be in a strong spot going into next year.

Ed looked like one of the top midfielders in the league before the injury. Hope he and naughton aren’t out long.

What an effort, proud of the boys.
Agree with Bramble but thought Daniel was huge.

Very good effort to go down swinging.

That 50 against VanDerMeer was an absolute joke.

Better goal kicking and a bit more luck with the injuries, we might have won it. Who knows.

Geez I ****ing hate Sydney.
Nothing will bring be more Enjoyment watching that club choke again in the GF or even in the finals

Used to really respect Sydney as a football club and fan base, but now I absolutely can’t stand them.

Their incessant and largely misplaced whining about the umpiring in the 2016 GF, has led to us being a pariah with the umpires.

If their fans ever feel like whinging about getting a raw deal from umpires against the Bulldogs, I suggest they go back and try to watch a replay of this match as objectively as possible.

This should also be a great example for our coaches to show the AFL umpiring department to show them how biased they have become against us.

The ultimate insult being the 50 penalty against Darcy for something that every Swan who stood a mark did for the entire match, in what was clearly a team tactic but for which they were never penalised.

This result and the injuries will be hard to overcome but very proud of the boys for giving it their all. Could be the making of a few players and the team if we keep the faith.
