Who the hell is Darren Baxter??

Played from 84-92

We traded him to Hawthorn in 93 for 2 late trade picks which was silly IMO since he averaged 22+ disposals a game in 1992

...but he was never damaging with his disposals.
Ummm - remind you of anyone in the current squad?

Hmmm not quite in the same basket as Boyd, Baxter did play a lot of footy off of the 1/2 back flank or wing. Unless you're referring to Higgins who is a far better kick than Baxter was

I still love Brian, was a great player for us, we will get 200 games out of Hrovat so his departure will give us a great players for years.

Its been an absolute win/win for both clubs and Brian himself(extra years cash), i dont know what more you can say.

For the final time I am sick of hearing what we got for lake being hvoart - we didnt get that at all.

We got Koby Stevens
We then jumped up a few picks in second round where we got Hvorat at 21 instead of having pick 28.

BUT we still had pick 28 where we would have grabbed another second round player.
Granted none of the players around that mark seem to have the future of a hvorat just yet but to say we got Hvorat for lake is plain and simply incorrect.
Not judging the trade - just want people to get the facts straight when they talk about what we got for Lake.

Without trading Lake we would not have gotten Hrovat, it was never a direct trade correct, but the pick we got from the Hawks secured the player, stop being stupidly pedantic.

If you want to be incorrect then thats your decision.

Would have we got Koby Stevens without the Lake trade - No - that was a direct use of the pick we got.
Saying that an increase of 7 picks in the draft order is the equivalent to a 200 game player is totally wrong.
We could well have picked up a 200 game player at 28 without the lake trade - it has nothing to do with it.

Lake getting owned by Petrie at the moment and he is losing his cool big time!
I never saw him as frustrated as I did last night... He looked like a player that just couldn't do what he wanted to anymore..not sure if it's old age or injury (or both)...

Didn't Petrie always get up against Lake anyways? I remember him nearly always having a good game against Lakey.
Remember the same except one game where Lake had 40 odd touches and 20 odd marks. Not sure if Petrie played that game though?

That was 2010 when Petrie missed almost the entire season. No coincidence that we clobbered North in both games.

I'm not sure I like what Lewis is insinuating: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-07-05/not-acceptable

Lewis told SEN the Hawks would not tolerate that kind of behaviour.
"I think he understands that what was done last night is probably not acceptable at our club," Lewis said on Saturday morning.
"He's probably been known in the past to do stuff like that and have brain fades, but we haven't seen that at our club as yet.
"We saw it last night which is not what we expect from our players, and I think Clarko will have a word to him on Monday and it'll be resolved."

There was another who won a Brownlow.
Dipper. Pulled some animal acts, look at when he cleaned up Alan Stoneham. Everyone thinks he's just big goofy Dipper, but we remember what he was really like. Granted, they were different times, but he still went too far at times.

Hawks way of doing bad things is to be sneaky about it, Lake in his usual aplomb did it in view of cameras, he will be lectured on the art of doing things when not looking, a la...Matthews and Bruns...Matthews and Cable....Dipper and Stoneham....the list is endless.....
