People wonder why the club is not pushing the Prison Bars issue harder when we have this kind of logic coming from the supporter base.

oh this is magnificent, Koch can use this to push this saga out another 2-3 years. "the supporters are divided, we'll wait for them to unite and decide what they want"

People say why we hate teal and completely forget that silver was the unofficial colour for Port in the 80s and early 90s

Similar to Charcoal brown and Reebok(?) Era ports

Also why not both? B+W for showdowns (or once a year for heritage purposes) then a black and silver or even silver and black i think would look sexy af if they got the colour right

Hell make an away and/or pre season white and teal bars. As long as there is the B+W bars once a year to nod the history that got us on the national stage I'm fine with adjusting the prison bar design

I'd rather ANZAC Day than showdowns.
The only reason to go for Showdowns is because it rustles the jimmies over yonder so much. Us wearing a guernsey we have worn for over a century is supposedly a huge affront to the Camry Crows.

I don't get the ANZAC Day thing - that's a day to honour the veterans, not about our battle with AFL House/Collingwood.
What jumper did those veterans play for?

What jumper did they love?

What jumper would have epitomised the PAFC to them?

I'd love for the club to do a poll of our living veteran members to ask what jumper they would like the club to run out in on ANZAC day.

The cognitive dissonance between the "yOu'Re nOt ThE rEaL pOrT" and then wanting to beat us in our 'Heritage' jumper is something to behold.

We already wear a compromise, I don’t want another one. Silver or teal or magenta PBs are a pointless exercise because they get us no closer to what we all really want. Conversely, they’d probably be the final nail in the coffin of the original, one that we sadly would’ve hammered in ourselves.

Original or nothing.

Probably unpopular opinion: Given the choice between black and silver bars every week, or black and white bars once or twice a year and the chevrons every other week, I'd take the black and silver bars every week option.

This but black and silver with black and white only once a year

Personal preference.
Easier to switch to a lighter shade that resembles white.
Timeless.
Stronger.
Teal is sh*t.

In my opinion silver PB's >>>> Chevron's with teal.

I’ve got one of those jackets.

Black and Silver never has and never will be an option.

It's a straw man that will get us to say yes to alternate bars that will kill both the black and white and black and silver options forever.

Yay teal.

I think black and silver PB would look awesome but it's not our true and rightful jumper. It's not about what looks good,, it's about honouring ourselves, past and present and future. It's got to be black and white.

Just telling you what I would be happy with, obviously there are a range of positions.

There is no right or wrong answer, just politics and egos and "rules".

Unless the silver is dark grey, and almost black, our battle with afl will still be the same. The inclusion of teal is entirely due to the afl not accepting silver as a lone additional colour.

Whilst every other club gets to nod their traditional identifiable jumper and colours every week bar a clash. One game is not a nod it's a bow.

The afl/Collingwood are making it a battle. We're the reasonable ones.

My preference is for us to aim for the traditional black and white PBs (1980s-90s iteration) for all games bar obvious clash games (use a silver jumper with white bars for that perhaps). I like the teal as an accent colour - it could be included on indigenous and other special occasion jumpers as well as pre-season jumpers.

I'm open to other PB variations on the proviso that we at least get 2 games with the traditional b&w PBs (e.g. home Showdown & Anzac Day) - if, and only if, the AFL completely rule out use of the b&w PBs as our main jumper. I'd prefer PB variations to the current meaningless chevron jumpers (which would be fine for pre-season though).

These are my current thoughts - they may change, but I don't think by much.

There is no good reason to compromise at all when we're this close to getting what we want anyway.
Are we? It feels like we're miles off getting what we want. The AFL comp is more Victorian biased than ever, they'll just keep saying no forever and there's nothing we can really do about it.
