Roughead, is he best 22? Will he share the ruck duties with Minson?

I dont think so, he will probably get 10-12 games this year, if Campbell impresses consistently in the VFL, fully expect him to leapfrog Roughead.

IMO these are the only dogs people should think about getting:

Hargrave: IMO a must get, worth the risk.
Lake: Similar to Hargrave but more risk for similar reward, I'd take Hargrave and forget Lake.
Clay Smith: Cash Cow
Boyd: Best 22 premium.

Other than that there is no dog worth getting because there are better options available. (Yes there is a few better options SC scoring wise than Griffen).

agreed but you have to remember that half backs dont get tagged in pre season games which is what will happen to hargrave i think

at least with lake his contested marking from oppisition kicks is GOLD

It's more likely that Murphy will be the one that gets the defensive forward.

good point but wont having morris and williams out make him play more defensive?

Wouldn't think so. We wont sacrifice Murph's rebound out of defense. Someone else would be more defensive to cover him.

Could do. I think the biggest question will be if he has to play tall or not. He plays his best Footy on smaller players. Due to our well known lack of talls in the time Hargrave has been there he has not had any choice but to play tall. But when we had Lake Williams and Morris up and running it was no surprise Shaggy played his best Footy. So I think the question people need to answer when picking him is will Wood play on the 3 rd tall or Hargrave. IMO he will rise in price either way.

Clay Smith is looking great for a bench spot or your last midfielder. Should be a 70+ average in sc and higher in dream team.

Boyd Lake Smith currently in my team.

Why isn't Tory Dickson a consideration ?

Thoughts on Liam Picken? I notice he is a tagger but do you think he can continue to post similar scores during the season as he has in the nab cup. Has scored 50 something in a 40 min match followed by 124 and 95. Has he been playing a tight role still in the Nab? Really think he could be a point of difference this year. Thanks

hi ppl , just would like some opinions on clay smith (SC) .. scoring potential and job security is my main concern obviously ??

any thoughts would be appreciated .. thanks

Would definitely be a unique pick, so if he keeps up these scores he could be a massive plus. Very risky pick though, and you are a braver man than me if you do pick him :p.

Clay is most likely going to play early. I have him in my round 1 side, as do many others. He's not the greatest with his kicking efficiency, so that would be a negative for his scores. He is an accumulator though, and he is in my DT and SC. He would be better for DT though.

I think most on here think he will play early on. A couple of queries will be disposal efficiency and whether he plays as sub. I think disposal wise he is a bit hit and miss but he is also likely to get a lot of hard ball gets/contested possessions. Personally I don't think he will start as sub, but have a look at the Bulldogs team before the start of the round for someone like Skinner who looks as if he is in the team will be sub.

Thanks for the speedy reply mate , much appreciated !! you have given me a great bit of info although hasnt made my decision any easier :D

Is there any reason as to why griffen has only been playing half games during the nab cup? how is he fitness wise? is there an injury he is returning from? Thanks!

He has played every NAB cup game, so the last 2 he has only played a half, just for a rest.
He got kicked in the hand on the weekend, but he is going to be right for round 1.
He is very fit, and won't have any troubles with his body going into the year.
Averages around 100, so he won't disappoint. I have him in my team every year, and he does well. Fairly unique pick too, not a heap of people have him.

Thanks for that !
Im taking a few unique picks from you guys this year, picking Griffen, Picken and Minson and staying away from the more popular Hargrave, Howard, Lake

Is there any reason Lake wont at least get back to his DT form from 2007-2009 where he averaged 77 over the 3 years?
Cant see him returning to a 95 average of 2010 but would still be a good risk to take if he will keep the same role and continue to get involved in the offensive side of the backline.
Or with his injury potential is he just too much of a risk? Thoughts appreciated.

Seriously considering Dickson as my F9. Was last week indicative of his form and future output or was it a one off? How's his job security?

Thanks in advance!

Seems likely to play early. Needs to work on his tank a bit though, so I don't know how long he will play for.
If he does continue to get games, he could be a good option.
Our best 22 is very unsettled atm. A lot of guys going for a limited amount of spots. Hard to know what will happen.

Thoughts on what to expect from Giansira?
Expect similar output as the last few years. You know what you are going to get with Gia. He'll even throw in a couple of big scores throughout the year. Good option, although there are others around his price who are just as good.
